Can anyone help me ... I live in the UK and well ... it seems to rain constantly ... about the ONLY exercise I really enjoy is walking ... and in the winter months I can do less of it because I cannot find a waterproof coat in a large enough size ... like this morning, I'd love to go out for a walk but it's chucking it down ...
The usual manufacturers of outdoor clothing, North Face, Berghaus, Craghoppers ... and the like ... just don't fit me ... does anyone have any ideas???
I am a UK size 24/26 ... which I think is a US 22/24 ... even links to US sites would be helpful because often they ship overseas.
Thanks in Advance (Gala)
Hope I've posted this in the right place .... :-)

try this: www.lanebryantcatalog.com
I know it's not a link, but the address should take you to a common, plus-size women's catalog here in the states. And I know their sizes go up higher than 24/26.

I prefer my rain poncho to a standard raincoat. It is bright red, snaps to form arms and has a hood. Picked it up at a large sporting goods store in the hunting section. Not as heavy as a coat and easier for me to move around.
Both

have raincoats, Catherine's up to super size, and Romans has a rain jacket as well.
If it is rainy you will see me in my poncho! It does cover my super-sized self and a very inexpensive option.
Good Luck! :D

My otherhalf is a size 28 with and bottom heavy (65") around the bum. She got a Cragg-Hopper Jacket, but in a mens size which for some stupid reason go to a 56/58" chest. It's cut is more boxy than the womens. Not the most flattering, but then who is looking when it's chucking it down when your walking the dog!! She got her's from a discount store in the Galleria on the A10. But I'm sure you should find one nearer to you!! Good Luck

Two words: Bumber-shoot. If it's not too windy and your arms don't get tired quickly this gives you excelent protection with the minimal amount of preparation (eg: sizing). If my Monty-Pythonophilic friend has steered me wrong I'm talking about what is referred to around here as a, " Golf Umbrella"
Panchos also work. *nods to EvilPrincess* I have this pink one that's just a square of plastic with a hood in the middle and snaps on the sides to make, "arms" like somebody mentionned earlier. The thing's gottah be over six feet on a side. It's not very flattering, but It's practically firehose-proof.
I was also going to suggest plastic garbage bags, but that's just tacky.

One of my favorites for plus-size activewear is Junonia. They will ship to foreign addresses, unlike some other companies.

Ulla Popken has some delicious coats/jackets, especially in Europe - way better than what they offer to the US. Not sure about the waterproof part though.
