I went to our photo site today to add some more pictures and found someone has deleted all the albums and all the photos along with them. There's nothing left in there at all. Wasn't the first time someone had gone in and rearranged things for no reason, but at least before most of the pictures were left. I hadn't been in there in a while, so I can't say exactly when it happened. Since there seems to be no point now, I shut down the site.

Seriously? Who would do that and why? I didn't even bother saving those pictures because I thought they'd always be there.
I hope who ever did it at least fesses up to it.

Even though we said the site was only to share amongst ourselves, my guess is someone passed the password to others outside the group and who knows who got it after that.
I don't think they were deleted by accident because one new album (empty) was created and the album name was the password. Everything else was deleted.
People get kicks doing strange things.

What a pity!
I put alot of time and effort uploading all my pics from Vegas to our photobucket site and even put some of the loose pics from others which were in the general section into the right folders.
We'll have to figure out a better system for next time.

Thats a shame. I had gone there the other day to see if any new had been added, but could not recall the password to enter... I wonder if next time just upload them to the yahoo group that was setup for the dimchatbashgoers?

Weird. I hadn't been there in about a month because of the move, but I saved all the photos that were posted up until the last time I checked it [no videos]. If anyone needs copies of what was posted, please let me know.

It just isn't right:mad: . I put a few pics in the site and just finished getting the rest of them off my camera and wanted to share some more. Somebody really messed up a good thing here and it would be nice for them to grow up and act as an adult and put it back together. This is really a mean thing to do from anyone, but I suppose there really ARE LOSERS that get some kick out of doing childish things like this. I visited the site 15-20 times and found it a nice place to view fun pics and remember what a fun time it was being there with all of you fun, gorgeous ladies:smitten: and good dudes:) . I thought the whole event was awesome! Remember this though......The person that took all the pics down can't steal our memories.
Good idea on the Yahoo group idea Qt

I know I didn't go to the Vegas Bash, but I have a very strong feeling I know who did this. Awhile back this particular chatter gave me the link and password to the photoalbum. I never accessed it since I didn't really have much interest in it. But I can tell you, this person who gave me the link was NOT present at the Vegas Bash but was in Arizona at the time visiting a "girlfriend." I'm sure with that information you all can figure it out.

Nah, I saw him at the laundrymat here in Michigan the other night as I was driving by.

Next time we make sure that the password is given to people who have photos to share..not the whole chatroom. There is a way to get just a link so everyone can see the pictures. We'll post that.

That's the best way, too, I think - or to have just one person in control of it and everyone else as a user... like with a computer logon and things like that.

I wasn't in Vegas, and don't know anything about that site, but the whole chatroom did not have access to the pics in question. I expressed an interest in seeing the pics at the time since I knew many people who went, and was told only participants could see the pics. I was never allowed to see them.
I don't know how many others were denied access, but certainly the restrictions lower the number of suspects.

You must have been absent when it occurred Samantha. Just because you weren't in attendance at the time, doesn't mean it didn't happen.

I am surprised to hear that some people were denied access. I seem to remember the password being said in open chat.

Seeing as that's the case, then it's a sad commentary that a) anyone was purposely denied access; and b) the pictures were tampered with.
But at this point, nothing suprises me here.
Nothing.

It was a private site created for the people who went to Vegas to share pictures with one another. Why would it be a given that anyone else should be allowed access, let alone a "sad commentary"?
The password was only for the people who went to Vegas and if it was posted in open chat, then that was a breach of that confidentiality.

If it was meant to be kept private, then that's fine. I didn't have any problem with it at the time, and I certainly agree that it should be kept for the attendees. However - it can be perceived by reading this here that that decision was subsequently changed, and open access given. Hence, my comment.
The fact that the password was given out, and the site tampered with as a result is certainly maddening.

The nice thing is that probably whomever took photos still has them on their computers, and if not, there are TONS of vegas bash pics freely available on the internet for EVERYONE to enjoy.

Nope, that decision wasn't changed. If it was given out in chat, it was just one person acting on their own.
At this point it's really all moot and not worth rehashing or worrying about who gave it out. We'll just have to do it a different way next year. Either that or those of us who don't like having photos posted publicly on the net (like me) will just have to duck away from the cameras more.
Edited to add: You're right QT, we can still share amongst ourselves. I'll probably upload mine to my own site at some point and send links to the people who are in the photos so they can have them.

That stinks.
Maybe next year, upload pictures to the Yahoo!Group?
