Dear, *everybody*
Wish me luck,
I am coming home to Minnesota tommorrow to see my sweetie!
My wife and I have been apart for nearly 2 months and I've missed her
soooo much. And it seems like we've done the online dating all over again since she's been gone. *Yahoo Messenging*
*Dejavue*
Thats how it all begun. We met over the internet in July of 2001. The ironies of life (how we sometimes get to do the things that we'd never thought we get to do again.) Like online dating, chatting. LOL I had to stay
in Arkansas because I had a couple traffic violations that I needed a lawyer for. Everything is ok now. Lawyers can be slow and that is why it has taken me so long to move.
Now, my family is going to dearly miss me in Arkansas and I'll dearly miss them too. Plus, I have family in Louisiana also that I'll miss. But now I can a get to know my wife's family in Minnesota, moreso.
Yay! I'm a leaving on a jetplane
p.s. *I've got butterflies in my stomach* --ack--

I really hear you on the online dating thing too. My sweetie is a good 1000 miles away, in Canada.

Hah! When I was young my sweetie was 5,000 miles away. And we had none of that online stuff and no computers. It was all letters written on paper by hand, no typing, and then sent via something that we called the Postal Service whose responsibility it was to take those letters and transport them to the other party. You paid them in stamps, little squares with a backside that got sticky when you licked them, and they cost money. Then we waited and waited and a couple of weeks later the Postal Service deposited a reply into a mailbox which was metal and outside the house and did not say "You've got mail." Every once in a while we used "long distance" on the telephone to actually speak with each other. That was very expensive. After many months of that we couldn't take it anymore and I purchased a ticket for a ride on an aeroplane. The aeroplane took off from Luxemburg, so I first had to board a train that took me there.
Man has the world changed since then!
Heh. Too funny, Conrad. :)
Big and I have wondered how it would be were there no such thing as the internet -- and reasonable phone rates now. With 3,100+miles between us, it would be crazy. Even though it's difficult carrying on like this for an extended period of time, I'm grateful we do at least have the phone and internet.

My sweetie is 2,000 miles away. We have unlimited minutes on our cell phone plans and usually "talk" around 7,000 minutes a month, which includes the times we just sit and watch the same TV shows together, or even falling asleep while on the phone at night.
I love unlimited cell phone minutes ;)
OP: I hope your reunion is everything you wanted it to be!
That's great, missaf. Being that my honey is in Canada, the cell phone thing wouldn't work. We each do have a phone plan that allows unlimited minutes across the border, so that allows us to talk every night. :)

Dear GOD! I can't imagine talking to *anyone* for that amount of time. My max phone time tends to be 5 minutes. Maybe 30 minutes if I haven't spoken to the person in years.

Wow.... Internet dating is too weird for me. #1, no sex. #2, no face to face time. #3, no sex. Wait, I said that. Sokay, I like sex.
Heh.
My sweetie is like, five feet from me... But meeting someone in a parking lot cause your car's busted is like... sitcom-ish.
Me, girl looking perplexed, hood propped open on badly smoking car.
Him, cute long haired mechanic with sexy semi-Southern accent. Like a Southerner who's been around the damned Yanks a bit too long, yknow?
We both ditch our individual baggage- through fate's twists more than our own intent- and we end up finding that we're the best (and worst) thing for eachother. But that's the give and take of being in love, isn't it?
One day, so horny you want to rip their clothes off.... and the next, wondering what the HELL posessed you to get INVOLVED with this psycho THING to begin with..... And the next, just going, "Oh.... my God....."..... Sounds normal to me.
*snicker*
If anyone cares, end problem of the car: roasted radiator, caused bad overheating (that broken temp gauge didn't show), which caused some other bad shit, and then my AC unit just exploded.
Thank god for lemon laws, eh?

Long distance relationships aren't easy, that's for sure. And don't get me wrong, sex is good, and damn I miss it, but oh the joys of getting together when we do!!

Well, I made it here in Minnesota safe and sound. The first thing that my sweetie did was smile the biggest smile ever and she gave me a kiss on the forehead and then we held each other tightly in a warm loving embrace. :wubu: Her name is Josalynn, she prefers to be called Josh. Me, well I am Jeff. I am still adjusting to the change of climate. I hope that my blood will thicken *ha!*
Today we went to FleetFarm <--- a big store that I've never seen in the south. There's lots of Winter, well-insulating clothing, accessories..that you just don't ever see much of in the south. I saw camouflage lingerie there too. LOL!
Roads were very icy, and slippery. My wife is used to driving and somehow still managaed to slide past a stop sign. Luckily, no other cars were coming. Kinda shook us up and of course the kids that we are temporarily taking care of. Me and Josh still do not have kids of our own. We are taking care of her Aunts and Uncles kids until they return from duty of being in the National Guard. My wife is now discouraged about having children after learning to take care of these two boys, her cousins of five and seven years of age. They are good kids, its just that their own mother let them get away with sooo much. We are learning day by day and they are a handful.
I am glad that I am appreciated at these boards. I appreciate you all too.
Thanks all for replying to this thread. :D
