ok, so it was like 2 weeks ago that I went. And while in teh city I caught some nasty cold and haven't been online to post too much about my trip. But I will try today.

I live in CT. And I had never been to the city. Its very hard to believe but its true. And for like the last year I have been wanting to go. And Heather always said she would take me, and my BF said he would take me. In fact we had made plans to go this past Tuesday while he was on vacation. But Heather beat him to it.

Deidra and I had gone to Yonkers NY to meet up with Heather for a personal reason. And while there heather called us real early in the morning and asked if we wanted to go into the city with her and see a show and do dinner. So who would say no to that!

SO she got us a suite, yes suite at the W in TIMES SQUARE!!! it was such a nice hotel,,,,staying in teh city is expensive as it is, but a suite! IT was an ultra modern hotel with 2 big 52 inch flat screen Tvs , 2 bathrooms, a desktop computer, and an AMAZING view of the city....

So we ventured out, Heather, Deidra , heathers il sister who is 7, and myself. We walked, we rode in cabs, we did not go to a show as I felt that Heather had already done more than enough taking me to teh city. We went to Rockafellar center! We saw the huge lit up tree...and Heathers little sister and I went ice skating in Rockafellar center. How amny people can say they have done that. Me me me,,,,,Although heathers little sister skated circles around me....I was affraird to let go of the rail, as I dont know how to skate,,,and all I kept thinking who is gonna pick up the 330 pound girl when she falls...although heathers little sister who is super smart and nice, took my hand at one point, remember she is 7, and was like push, glide, push , glide lol.

We went to dinner and headed back to the hotel. It was just amazing to be in the city, and get to see what they show on TV all the time.....

I know for those who live in the city, or have been many tims, its not a very big deal...but for someone who has never been, the lights, the sights, ists just amazing.

Vi :-)

P.S. and while there i tried this WHite Castle that many speak of, and I HATED it ....none for me , thanks!

I'm glad you escaped from Yonkers* alive and well.

I can't believe you live in ct and haven't gone. Well congrats on your trip.

*I live right near Yonkers and I can make fun of it all I want. No disrespect towards the fine people who reside there. You should've had her take you to Woodlawn for some drinking afterwards.

lol Deidra and I were trying to book an inexpensive hotel in Yonkers, and we had found the Yonkers motor lodge or whatever it was called, Heather was MORTIFIED that we were thinking of staying there. Lol She said we would be mugged, beaten and raped and they would steal our car lol.....SO thankfully heather helped us and we stayed at the Royal Regency Inn...and we came out alive....I did see some nice parts of yonkers though...quiet streets where children can play and walk alone....looked like an ok city in some parts.

Hi BigCutieViolet,

Sounds like you have had quite an experience. I hope that you had plenty of fun. Thanks for sharing your pics also. Love seeing that *enormous tree* Its wonderful to try new things and see new sights. Sounds like quite an awesome hotel suite you went to. I wonder if they you all got a jacuzzi also? Did you all get to see any live music?

Ice skating is fun. I have never ice-skated outdoors. Is that what you all did?

I have never tried White Castle anything. But I noticed that you can buy the frozen White Castle stuff at Walgreens. I've never been to Yonkers. I've been to Washington DC once, though...and ate a subway that was part of an old building.

Take care BigCutieViolet, I hope that you are starting to feel better.

I know both those places! The second place you stayed at was right by stew leonard's.

I find white castle's depressing. They all have bullet proof glass in this area. it's a common theme, heh.
