Hi, and welcome. :)
Here's a thread with some tats in it: http://www.dimensionsmagazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1375
That should get you started while you wait for replies. :)

I absolutely adore long hair (if it's well kept!) and tattoos. On EVERYONE. (Secretly I miss my long hair...when it's past my butt again I'll be able to date short-haired boys! Maybe.)
I think this might be my first response on the new boards that isn't "gee, you're pretty". And it's STILL superficial. *sigh*

Tattoos? Long hair? Anything suits a BHM!
Like Goreki said, go for it!

Im stuck in the 80's, so guys with long hair, ripped jeans and tattoos are my fantasy. and if they are a bhm, its even better. I have 4 tats myself, and 3 piercings.

Oh? Should be asking where and what these tattoos are? I would ask where you had piercings, but I am a little scared too!

Oh I wish I could find the picture. I want a beautiful BBW goddess, who's dressed in a greek goddess wrap, step forwarding with incredible beauty, I want her on my thigh. I think it was a Delacroix, but I can't remember...
At any rate, I should be getting my first tat soon :)

I got a tat of a fat mermaid, it is based on one of the Katherine's mermaid ornaments.

How much do tattoos hurt? When I was young, a lot of people made a big stink about how much having their ears pierced hurt, and then I had mine done and hardly felt it, and so I went back and had them done again.
-SnapDragon (I have a scar on my left shoulder from an immunisation shot, and have often speculated on trying to disguise it with a tattoo of a wyvern -- my neo-pagan contemporary totem mythical beast)

speaking as somebody who has fainted from injections before, i found the tattooists needle to be no trouble at all but then i have a nice layer of padding to protect me from any pain :-)
i guess it depends on whereabouts on the body u choose to have it done...i have noticed a lot of women seem to go for the ankle, hipbone or the small of the back where obviously there is less natural fat so it can be a little painful.
just bite the bullet, pick a good tattooist and go for it. oh and don't forget to send us a pic to see how it looks :-)

I found that the location and amount of color in the tattoo affected how much pain was involved. The one on my ankle i found to be quite painful ( the leaves from the rose sit right on my ankle bone, and feeling the needle bounce off the bone wasn't a plesant expirence at all) HOWEVER, the one on my calf didn't hurt much at all (just a few mins during the shading when it was a little tender already), the one on my back was more of a sexually exciting tingle, and the one on my breast i fell asleep during the tattoo process and felt nothing(yes i was 100% sober!). Everyone's pain tolerance is different, and the only way i can describe the feeling is that of a cat, kneeding while its relaxing. ( you know how they spread their paws out and kneed your lap before they go to sleep, mostly annoying, but not extremely painful)

Could you show us a picture? I'd love to see it!

You're kind of my nightmare, chippy. I have long (waist) and very, very thick hair. I often DO find things snarled in there. Mostly things I put in there myself (clips, pens/pencils) but still...someday, I'm going to find a badger or a city rat, I just know it.
That's why I'm finally getting it cut!

I believe I have heard from several sources that tatooing scar tissue is very painful (and might not even 'take' properly). I would read up and visit a few tattoo shops. The artists/receptionists there should have no problem being upfront with you if they're reputable. A real artist/professional won't do a job just for the money if the final product isn't viable.
One of mine didn't hurt at all--and is on a fatty body part. THe other hurt rather a lot, but that's b/c it's all black (read: all outlining). Ooh.
