Last night I was in Cambridge meeting a friend for dinner, and I saw...

Stephen Hawking! I didn't say anything, but I really should have. He's a cool guy. I should have asked him to go for a drink. I guess he was giving a speech at the Harvard commencement.

Neato.

HEY!!!! I hear he's newly single..... ;) Loads of $$$$$

Personally, I would never have opened my mouth.... I would feel like a complete idiot compared to him.... I'm not smart enough to even breathe his air... LOLOL

Cool though, I would have been excited too!!

:)

I'm really envious; the man is a real inspiration, someone who hasn't let his condition get in his way or stop him from achieving great things. Lucky you!

Yeah after the fact I thought, "Hawking likes the ladies. I should have made a move."

:D

And diggers, I really do wish I had said something for just those reasons. He has inspired me since I was a little kid. I'm sure that he knows all of that and hears it every day, but I wish I had just stopped and said "thank you."

From what I heard, Hawking has "science wit" instead of "pundit wit", so you needn't feel like an idiot around him unless discussing dynamic black hole surfaces in convex-Euclidean spaces.

He is so amazing...I would be totally "uh...uh...uh..." speechless.

Thats a neat story... The closest I've ever came to meeting any one famous was I say some famous athletes and Chuck Norris at a gorcerery I used to work at in Texas.

I'll toss out my most famous brush ups and y'all tell me which is tops:

1. Ah-nold AND Gerald McRainey (Major Dad; now, every Lifetime Movie of the Week) at the GOP 1992 convention;

2. Tom Cruise at the Capitol;

3. Coked-up Marion Berry at random Italian restaurant on Cap Hill (his pupils were BLOWN)

4. Vanna White (mid-80s Vanna, mind you);

5. John-Michele Jarre (French techno instrumentalist)

6. drunken grope of Newt Gingrich's mistress (now third wife) at party;

7. Elmo (who I got to tickle); or

8. Molly Ivins (who I had the honor and fun of hanging out with and guzzling beer with on more than one occasion);

I'm leaning towards 3, 6, 7, or 8 myself.
