Ah... my home. I wish I could say I'd be there but I'm out in the Midwest for what looks like the entire Summer. Have a blast though... let me know if you need recommendations for places to check out! :)

Thanks! Yes, any recs are welcome--especially places to eat, things to do, etc.

If you are coming to the Baltimore area, let me know where and when so I can arrange my schedule. It would be cool to meet.

I'm in the area, too. If ya'll want to meet up, let me know via PM. Or, if you have any questions, let me know.

Hope you both have a lovely trip, and pray for low humidity while you're here.

Ashmamma84,

I think I may know why ya'll are gonna be in the DC/Baltimore area, and if I'm right, you will have a great time. I went to the same thing in 2002, and it was fun times. If I'm wrong, then you will be in the area when it is going on, and you should look into going.

Aren't I cryptic this morning? Anyhoo, have a great trip, and be sure to have some blue crabs (I prefer mine in cake form) when you're in the area.

We will be visiting my aunt and her partner nad we are looking for things to do, so whatever it is that you did in 2002, we are up to doing this time around! So please do share the info!

Thanks!

Oh and the blue crab sounds delightful. :)

I was wrong! I had remembered two things driving in my car this morning: 1) the WNBA all-star game is in DC on the 15th, and 2) you had mentioned somewhere in Dims that you and Babe are basketball fans, so I put 2 and 2 together and got a wrong answer!

But yes, if there are still tickets available, you should go. When it was last in DC, they had a fan fest outside the arena during the all-star weekend, and I got a picture with Chamique Holdsclaw and had great seats at a packed MCI (Now Verizon) Center for the game.

Speaking of the WNBA, do ya'll follow the Sky? They have one of my former Mystics women, Stacey Dales, playing for them.

Yes! My aunt has got tickets, I believe. Babe is THE biggest basketball fan, well, her and my aunt so when they get together, they talk for hours about stuff...and Babe follows the Sky like it's going out of style. LOL But yes, you are correct.

I live a couple hours west of DC/Balt... western end of MD doesn't even look like it in the same part of the state...if you get bored and want to see trees.

I'm in Richmond - couple hours away from DC. I could probably drive up for a meetup of some kind the weekend of the 15th! :D It would be fun!

It would be fun to have a Dims DC meetup, and of course it would be even better to catch up with you, BBMe, since it's been almost 6 months since NYC.

Now where's Lipmixgirl to coordinate when we need her? Oh yeah, thats right, she's in NYC. Drats.

I love me some ashmamma, but I'm not hauling my sizeable arse all the way to D.C. in this insane heat. I'd be all....wilted by the time I got there. :p

If, however, you lovely peeps feel like meeting somewhere halfway between D.C. and my area, like around Annapolis, I'd be all over that like.... well, like me on chocolate. :batting:

I don't blame you, Carrie! I don't know where our adventures will take us...in any event, we are looking forward to having a great time...

I'm wondering how far away we would be between D.C. and Annapolis...hmmm...

So you're going to let BBM roll out from the Richmond but you can't sally forth from the MD? For shame.....what, are you over the Bay Bridge?

And if you are, well, then, oh, no wonder.....

Once you cross the Bay Bridge into Oz, it's another 50 minutes to my house, smarty-pants. Right next to Delaware. :p

Oh, goody! Tell Babe I was the first girl on my high school basketball team - hell, the first kid at my school - to own a pair of Air Jordans, maybe that'll help! (I still couldn't jump for shit, though).

Annapolis is worth a visit anyway if one is in Maryland (really, at one point it was considered to be the Nation's Capitol, I believe). You're on the bay, close to the crab cakes, and even better, Carrie will be there!

I want to go to the doggie beach in Annapolis. Well, maybe not with Dim folks, unless they bring a dog.

So, as the weekend approaches, what do we got? Just curious. I'm out of pocket with HPV at the Uptown (that's the movie, not venereal disease) from 6 to 8 on Saturday night with friends. Other than that, I'm more wide open than a $5 dollar.....um, my schedule is pretty light.

Nothing's happening yet, I don't think. My plans are light, too. So light that I just rejoined Netflix.

We got home yesterday...I am quite tired. I posted a blog on it, but I will copy it here.

Back and tired as ever. I just woke from a short nap --I haven't even started to think of unpacking suitcases, though I probably should as we are leaving again on Thursday (bright and early) to head to Babe's family reunion. I really don't know who we think we are...all this traveling is fun, but man, it sure is draining.

D.C./Baltimore was awesome - such a gay friendly place. There is "family" everywhere! LOL I have mad love for D.C., and even made a few friends while visiting --they are from Baltimore, so we have more options when we come to visit. Oh and to the fellow Dimmers that I was trying to meet up with: I am so very sorry. My schedule, from the moment we touched down, was jammed packed. For sure, I will be back, so we will certainly have to work something out.

We attended the WNBA All Star Game on Sunday, floor seats, no less and just had an absolute ball! Basketball players are always so much taller in person...who knew? LOL Anyway, I've get tons of pics to upload and once I'm finished, I will be sure to post them so those who want, can have a looksie.

I am going to try to spend the rest of the evening relaxing...I just ordered our dinner (there is no way I am cooking), and we are waiting on it.

I've missed you all! 'Tis good to be back!

We're not as happening as MA or NY/NJ or CA, but DC can hold its own in the Dims universe.

Welcome to the boards, wvilla. Hopefully some other DC/MD/VA/WVA folks will pop in and say "hey"

And welcome to the cows and the chickens. Didn't know it was THAT kind of site, Carrie :D

Well to be perfectly honest...i didn't even know there was a Dims universe in DC....Maybe I have been just ignorant to that fact....Summertime in the city while working and going to school is just difficult finding new people, y'know? lol

And thanks for the welcome, much appreciated....although I have been in and around these walls for awhile but never really said much

If you cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge onto Kent Island, that and every part of the state east of there is known as Maryland's Eastern Shore. It tends to be pretty rural, hence my cows and chickens crack (:p, Butchie, :p!).

And yep, welcome. :)
