View Full Version : Your last 3 meals

If you knew, well, to be blunt, you could only ever have 3 meals, ever again (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, respectfully), what would they be?
Obviously, this would be an entirely tragic event. As we all here know, food is absolutely marvelous.
Breakfast
Lunch
Dinner
And yes, Dinner can include Dessert.

Breakfast I could do without, but probably pancakes with loads of butter and maple syrup, lots of sausage, croissants with an assortment of jams, and over easy eggs.
Lunch would, without a doubt, be paddai with shrimp, with a side of coconut chicken. For dessert, cookies and cream and cookie dough ice cream.
For dinner, lobster, crab, and scallops for a main source, with chedder biscuits. Have to have corn on the cob too! For dessert, raspberry cheesecake.

Breakfast: two eggs over easy, bacon, Italian white toast and homefries. Decaf coffee with half and half plus a big glass of ice water. Some cut-up melon to finish.
Lunch: tuna salad sandwich made with white tuna, Hellman's Real Mayo, some celery and onion mixed in, on Italian white semolina toast with lettuce and tomato. Huge glass of iced tea, and Waterford crystal bowl of ripe red raspberries for dessert.
Dinner: my mother's Thanksgiving Dinner. Turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed taters, tossed salad with Italian dressing, rolls, butter, cranberry sauce, black olives, celery and radishes, homemade apple pie. Ice cold 7-Up and later, with the pie, decaf coffee.
At bedtime? A gigantic frozen margarita with loads of salt! Man, what a great day......

I got so excited about my first Foodee Board topic (2nd topic I started total), that I forgot to say mine!!
Shrimp and Tuna so far for lunch... Hmmmmm. I'm not a huge fan of either!!
Breakfast: I haven't eaten a certified "breakfast" since I was 11 years old, so I really wouldn't have breakfast either, but if I actually chose to, just a simple Scrambled Eggs & Buttered Toast (I put the eggs on the toast). An apple on the side, and Mountain Dew!!!
Lunch: Very simple!!! Turkey sandwich, on Buttermilk Pepperidge Farm bread, with Provolone cheese, mayonnaise, and lettuce!! Mmm!!!
Dinner: Way too American. Classic American Cheeseburger, topped only with lettuce, mayonnaise, katchup, and mustard. A side of Macaroni & Cheese and Fries, and then Vanilla ice cream with chunks of Peanut Butter Cups, Heath Bars, and peanut butter mixed in! Fudge on top.
....
I'm hungry.

Maybe I am misunderstanding...but I think we're supposed to list our choices for our "final" 3 meals, not the last meals we've eaten...

OMG, I'd be so disappointed if that were the case. I had a bag of semi-stale chips, frozen pizza, and Slim Fast. That's not the way to go out.

hmm This is an interesting thread..
Breakfast: 3 Asiago bagels from Noah's Bagels smothered in a THICK layer of cream cheese and if i had room some "De Anza Browns" (hash browns with a layer of cheese, and sour cream, pico de gallo, and guac on top)
Lunch: Cheesy enchiladas enough to make me not want to move for a couple of hours :)
Dinner: a Trio of pasta favorites.. Lasagna with mushrooms and spinach and tons of cheese... homemade macaroni and cheese with a nice baked in cheese crust on top... and linguini alfredo
I'd probably finish the day off with some sort of sweet, like a piece of coffee cake

Breakfast would be a Greek omlette (just spinach and feta cheese) from the South City Diner in St. Louis, a side of breakfast potatoes with ketchup, toast with jam, juice and coffee. I'll have a hot fudge and brownie sundae for dessert too (if it's my last day on earth, I'm having dessert as often as possible).
Lunch would be at my favorite St. Louis restaurant called the King and I for Thai food. I'd order two bowls of hot and sour soup (I LOVE this stuff), an order of chicken satay (I could consume a gallon of peanut sauce), and then I'd have red curry chicken. Dessert would require a trip down Grand Ave. to Ted Drewes for a large Oreo and mint concrete. I usually order only one bowl of soup and a mini-sized concrete, but again if it's my last day on earth, I'm gonna go out with a bang.
Dinner would involve getting on a jet and flying to Cleveland to see my boyfriend which is actually where I'd want to be anyway. We'd go to this Indian place we've dined at a few times now (the name escapes me). We'd order the vegetarian appetizer platter and I'd drown the whole thing in the wonderful chutney sauce, then we'd share the butter chicken and the other dish with the name I can never remember with the home-made cheese and tofu in a sweet red curry sauce, and the safron rice. For dessert we'd head back to his place and because once again it's the last day on earth, we'd share some Ben and Jerry's in bed and **** all evening until the grim reaper showed up at the door (again going out with a bang). ;)
Hmmmm... this is a fun thought, my last ever meals???
I bet if you asked us all a week from now a we would all have completly different answers! My tastes change to much!
Brekkie- Smoked salmon on wholemeal bread with proper butter, and with a side of creamy scrambled eggs covered in cracked black pepper and a cool glass of Orange juice.
Lunch-A selection of Tapas/Lebanese/mezza, , olives, salami, potato croquettes, spanish omlette, battered whitebait, prawns garlic mushrooms. Crust white warm bread with butter. A bottle of decent white wine to complement the seafood. A plate of Baklava and a pot of decent coffee and cream.....mmmm dribble, I think Baklava is the most decadant food ever!
Dinner- A fresh salad with lots of mixed raw onions and garlic, seafood platter, with salt and pepper squid and sweet chilli dip. Peanut (bang bang) chicken, and coconut rice.
Tiramusu and fresh double cream and a decent bottle of red. I would die happy and content with that little lot!

Ok SO really now.
I think I would like 2 over easy eggs with toast and hashbrowns WELLDONE and I would like one pancaked and 2 slices of stuffed french toast. Lots of bacon cooked nice and crispy, and lots of sausage country style. Maple syrup and lots of butter.
Lunch. It would have to be mini sandwiches of all my favorite sandwiches. tuna and tomato. bologna and cheese. ham salad, roast beef with cheddar and horsraddish mayo. Lots of pickles lots of salad and olives and blue cheese dressing.
Dinner.
It would have to be Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings.

I don't know if I am ready to think about my last three meals ever in life... but if I were to plan the perfect day of my favorite meals, I guess it would look something like this:
B-Fast: 3 eggs scrambled (maybe with cheese), linguisa, home fries or grits (if I was having the grits, then I would put cheese in either the grits or the eggs. never in both) an English muffin toasted, black coffee and OJ (not from concentrate.)
Lunch: a large Italian sub from a local mom and pop deli with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions and just a little bit of hots, and a splash of olive oil, no mayo. A bag of potato chips that I can crunch up and put into the sandwich, a bottle of Dr. Pepper, and maybe an apple.
Dinner: fried chicken with collard greens and macaroni and cheese. For desert, strawberry cheesecake ice cream (something that I have been having trouble finding lately.)

Oh man...okay, this is going to be tough.
Breakfast--I know it's somewhat gross, but McDonalds Bacon Egg and Cheese Bagels. Soo good. I don't know why I like them so much, but I do.
Lunch--A large piece of salmon with rice pilaf, and brocoli with cheese.
Dinner--Steak (Medium) and Garlic Shrimp with those Cheddar Biscuits from Red Lobters and a baked potato.
Dessert (cause I nnneeeeeed it)--Rice Crispy Treats.
Now I'm hungry. Good job!

This thread really got me to thinking.....mmm..
Breakfast would be a hot link omlet with avocado, mushrooms and swiss cheese, has browns (extra crispy please) 2 english muffins toasted crisp with orange marmalade and/or honey.
Lunch would have to be a large BLt made with lots of thick sliced bacon on sourdough toast with crisp kettle chips and a very large iced tea.
Dinner would be a very thick rib-eye steak cooked medium rare, steak fries served with a side of sour cream for dipping, hot sour dough bread and for desert some Cinnamon oblivion from the Outback...
gawd i am sooo hungry right now...:eat2:

Wow, this is really hard to decide apon. I definitely have my favorite meals, but probably a dozen or so, not just three!! Well, since it's my last day on earth, might as well eat myself silly....
Breakfast: Eggs Neptune (like Eggs Benedict, but with crabmeat instead of ham), crispy hash browns, maybe a fresh everything bagel with vegetable cream cheese. Mimosas made with freshly squeezed orange juice thank you.
Lunch: Sushi with plenty of hot sake. Especially spicy yellowtail and crispy shrimp rolls. Addicting.
Supper: this is really tough to decide on. I could go with italian/indian/mexican...but I think I'll have the American classic: grilled rib eye steak (medium), baked potato with butter, sour cream and chives. A nice garlicky Ceasar salad, cheesy garlic bread, and an excellent bottle of merlot
.
No so big on desserts, but a cheesecake from Juniors wouldn't hurt my feelings :).

That's how we all want to die, isn't it? Surrounded by family and friends, projectile puking eggs, sausage, dressing, and watermelon margarita so hard that there's tremendous splashback right onto our faces... Now that's good Christian fun.

I could think of more entertaining ways to die, but this would be pretty high on my list. I like the idea of being surround by friends and family when it happens. And maybe a photographer, too. If I did something like this, I'd definitely want an audience.

If not a movie crew conveniently filming in the restaurant so your final moments of glory can be relived over and over by the world. In a way, if you died like that, I think it would spare your loved ones a lot of grief.

I could finally live my dream of being on TV doing something funny/interesting/outrageous! And provide entertainment for hundreds of millions of people! And any grieving by my loved ones would be alleviated by all the money they would receive in royalties.

I've hesitated to respond because I am terrible with making decisions about food. I believe it is because if I choose one thing, I have to reject so many others. And I don't want to reject any! :D
So you'll find that I am going to choose very complex meals with LOTS of things, so that I don't miss any of my favorites.
Breakfast - I am going to steal Janelle's idea of the Eggs Neptune (sounds great!) with runny yolks, but I want it with scrapple (cooked crisp!) and lots of well done bacon. I want perfect potato pancakes with sour cream. I want fresh fruit salad (with at least 10 different kinds of fruit) and a dollop (ok several dollops) of fruit dip (which is made from cream cheese, confectioners sugar and cinnamon).
Lunch - crispy duck - with extra extra extra skin. (like...give me the crispy skin from 4 ducks, and then just a half of a duck to eat with it. lol) I want mashed butternut squash with maple syrup, marshmallows, butter and nutmeg (sounds weird but it is to DIE for. Hmm...appropriate for this thread, then!) and some fresh steamed asparagus with hollandaise.
Lunch dessert: a dessert tasting menu with small portions of rich, dense strawberry cheesecake, flourless chocolate torte, wonderful portuguese custard cups called Pasteis de Nata, and any other surprises the chef might like to add. With lots of real whipped cream.
Dinner - OK, I would like surf and turf. I want a devine dry-aged NY strip steak cooked medium rare, with delicious crispy fat on the edges. I want a 3 lb lobster, steamed, with drawn butter that gets replaced with more warm butter as I eat. I want pan seared diver scallops. I want alaskan king crab Legs. I want none of the above to have ever been frozen.
For sides, let's see...yummy garlicky, cheesy, crispy scalloped potatoes (thinking about the ones I get at the Garlic Rose, a yummy garlic restaurant nearby). and some really great home made cole slaw (goes good with the shellfish). I would ask for corn bread or some fresh baked rolls, but I don't think I would be able to eat all that. lol
Dessert: a trio of creme brulees (the flavors can be up to the chef, but I would love one to be made with herbs - perhaps basil or rosemary?)
I hope I didn't forget anything!!!

Lunch: 12" subway cheese steak sub, with onions, lettuce, shitloads of gerkins, jalapenos and mayo. lol
dinner: large dominos pizza with pepperoni, ham, sausage, triple jalapenos*, extra cheese, ground beef and shitloads of mushrooms and some chicken wings LOL oh yeah and a whole cheese cake (i'm not gonna get too full am i? lol)
*sod the assburn, i'll be dead.

Wow, this is tough to think about!
Breakfast: Taylor Ham, egg and cheese on a hardroll - Broadcast brand corned beef hash w/fried spaghetti and eggs (also fried) - home fries (not hashbrowns) with peppers and onions fried crispy and a whole lb. of extra thick peppered bacon - biscuits w/sausage gravy - coffee and fresh squeezed pink grapefruit juice!!!
Lunch: XLarge pepperoni pizza w/Barqs Birch Beer
Dinner: Huge tossed salad w/ chunky blue cheese dressing, meatloaf w/mashies and gravy, roast turkey breast w/stuffing a loaf of rosemary bread w/freas butter and a half gallon of mint chocolate chip ice cream smothered w/butterscotch topping!!!!

>>A perfectly ripe, sweet, ice-cold grapefruit, cut in sections for me. A four-egg omelette with carmelized onion and about a quarter-pound of good Canadian cheddar, crisp hash browns and a chunk of baguette, toasted and buttered. A large cappucino with lots of nutmeg and a warm cinnamon-raisin bun about the size of a softball....mmmm.
>>A bowl of homemade cream of chicken soup with chunky vegetables and fresh homemade croutons. A turkey club sandwich with thick slices of turkey still warm from the oven, thick slices of maple-cured bacon, thick slices of ripe tomatos and a thick layer of Hellman's mayonnaise on thick slices of sourdough toast...does anyone see a pattern here LOL? A large order of Nathan's french fries (if you have to ask what they are, you'll never understand). A pitcher of ice-cold rootbeer with about four scoops of vanilla ice-cream floating in it.
>>A slice of perfectly ripe melon with a big mound of shaved parmesan and about 12 slices of prosciutto. A bucket of steamed soft-shell clams and a pint of melted butter to dip them in. A bowl of linguine carbonara with a couple of lobster tails on the side. A bottle of a nice white Burgundy. Mmmm. I'm starting to get carried away here....some roast veal and pommes Lyonnaise. A green salad with a light lemon dressing and some more shaved parmesan. A creme brulee about ten inches in diameter with chocolate-dipped orange peel, ginger and strawberries. A ball of passion-fruit sorbet with cookies and a double espresso and a glass of ice wine.
This might actually be WORTH dying for....
My god, what an awful perspective! But I'd try to make the best of it and, being the last meals, I would ecceed.
Being an Italian I think I'd overindulge in things basically Italian, and a lot of them.
Breakfast: Italian croissant, cappuccino and German rye bread with butter and honey, crystallized, hard honey, not the liquid type
Lunch: Italian ham and parmesan, lasagna, barbecued pork chops, aubergines with tomatoes, gorgonzola, a good Nobile di Montepulciano, coffee, a good Cognac
Dinner: one Manhattan, maybe also on Martini, crostini with mozzarella and anchovies, wild boar with polenta, artichokes alla giudia, Fontina cheese, a good Barolo a good Italian grappa. And an Italian cigar!

This is a fantasy right? So we don't even have to pretend to be reasonable...
Breakfast would be homemade sausage gravy and biscuits with hash browns fried in butter, a bowl of mixed sliced peaches and honey mangos and fresh squeezed OJ.
Lunch would be a BLT with lots of thick, crisp bacon and garden tomatoes on homemade honeywheat toast, Mom's Beer cheese soup and Grama's homemade raspberry pie and vanilla ice cream.
Dinner would be a mesquite grilled tenderloin, steamer clams, King crab and a fat Maine lobster tail served with lots of butter. Steamed asparagus with holladaise and butter poached new potatoes with spring peas. Cornbread with butter and honey and those garlic cheese biscuits with my homemade garlic butter. Baklava and caramel apple cheesecake for dessert.
Hmmm...I just realized there's no chocolate on that list. I wonder how that happened?

this could take a while....
Breakfast: 2 egg McMuffins and a large order of hashbrowns. 2 country ham and biscuits with 'matos from The Curb(amazing place to get REAL Southern food) and a huge serving of red eye gravy.
Lunch: Mrs.Dawns famous roast, with extra potatos and onions, yeast rolls, fresh honey butter from Wells Farm, and bowls of natural drippings brown gravy....a glass of ice cold whole milk to wash it down with.
Dinner: A huge medium well t-bone steak, flame kissed and juicy. a loaded spud, a loaf of garlic toast, with extra butter. My moms garlic mac-n-cheese, Nana Bells fried veggies and a Four Way Sampler from ruby Tuesdays...with a family size order of Fried Cheddar from The Mill Grille. all washed down with foamy perfect Root Beer and a pan of million dollar Raspberry Godiva pie snacks for dessert...
and thats what I would eat... :)
A lot of thought went into that...yum:eat2:

Last three meals ever...wow! I hope I have room!
Breakfast: Three eggs over medium, 3 JimmyDean sausage links, 3 slices of good thick bacon, hashed browns, homemade biscuits and good country sausage gravy, 2 pecan pancakes with butter pecan syrup, good strong coffee with cream and sugar, orange juice, and a tall glass of whole milk. MMMM!
Lunch: A nice fat double cheeseburger, rare. I want the patties made by hand, not those mass produced ones you usually get. I also want the works on it ... lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, mustard, mayo, and ketchup, with a side of well seasoned steak fries, and a bubbly cola beverage. :D For desert, a nice slice of homemade apple pie with French Vanilla icecream on top!
Dinner: A 32oz, thick ribeye steak, very rare, flamed kissed on the bbq with charcoal, not gas...love that sexy smokey flavor. A huge baked potato with sour cream, chives, bacon bits (no imitation please), and cheddar cheese. One of those twice baked potatos would work as well..they usually come with all those goodies blended in...and a big side of Southern Smothered Collard Greens to! I'd like a bourbon and coke before my meal comes, and with my meal, a tall glass of iced tea. Oh, and maybe a cup-o-chilli to go as an appetizer! Yum!
Desert would be a couple of slices of a great Turtle Cheesecake and a huge Pina Colada. Mmmm damn!
I could die a satisfied, fat and happy woman at this point!

I'm going to be a little bit different with some of my choices, I'm sure.
Breakfast: Thinly sliced fried liver with onions on my mom's homemade bread--I'll take the crusts, please. A great big class of orange juice and a large serving of raspberry or black cherry yogurt.
Lunch: Hmmm. Tomato soup with grilled cheese--again with mom's homemade bread, and sharp cheddar cheese, with a little onion salt on it. Actually browned in butter, rather than grilled. Washed down with lots of whole milk--right from the bulk tank, so it's not processed, but is cold.
Supper: Pounded steak, mashed potatoes with lots of butter, corn, beets (maybe), cranberries, and again the whole milk.
For dessert: Angel food cake with fresh sugared strawberries and REAL whipped cream or ice cream on top.
