Something I've always wondered about related to fat

Ok so..

- My feet are big (us10/11)
- My head is big and almost always too large for non-stretchy hats.
- My hands are big (not like man hands, but noticeably bigger)
I could probably add more, but it's late.

My simple question is WHY? Is this common among fat people?
Theories/facts would be greatly appreciated!

Oh, and i should add that I'm relatively fat, and my skinnier friends doesn't have this 'problem'.

I have smallish hands and feet, but I noticed that my shoe size seems to change with my weight. It is not just the width but the length too.

I wonder if it is a height thing too? I have thin female friends with large feet (US12/EU42), but they are also pretty tall. My ex who weighs 320 pounds is barely 5 feet and her hands and feet are tiny! Much smaller than mine too, and I am 5'5".

But how tall are you? I bet that has something to do with it. I'm 5'7". My head is too big for most hats, my hands are too big to fit woman's size gloves and rings but too small to fit man's size gloves and rings. Same deal with my feet - too wide for women's shoes, too small for men's. My fat cousin tho is 5' exactly and she has tiny hands and feet. Always has.

I don't know about this relating to fat, but I know that head size is definitely just a generally inherited trait that I don't believe is related to body size otherwise. I have a big head (I'm average sized...) and can never get hats that fit (and I wear an extra large helmet). My daughter and birth mother also have large heads. But my wife who is large sized has an average sized head and somewhat petite hands. My guess is that your large head, hands and feet are probably just coincidental. Although, as my wife has lost and gained weight, her feet changed sized somewhat. There may be something to your observation Susie, but I doubt large heads, hands and feet are necessarily related to large bodies.

I'm 6'1 nearly 6'2 and I have a big head and size 13 feet. Is this related to my fat? Dunno, its a possibility I suppose.

All the people in my family have big heads, regardless of weight. All the women on my mom's side (except grandma) have size 11 feet. Some of the women are quite petite too. I was surprised by that when I was a teenaget when the fact became known to me. I was a 10 1/2 until i had Max. Now i'm closer to an 11 1/2 since having Max. Having babies sucks for your feet!!
I think my giant man-hands come from being a big boned 5'11". (i have broad shoulders and hips, hence the big boned comment.)

I wouldn't say that was weird Suz (hi btw!) even though I am the complete opposite....I'm 5'8", not as fat as i was, but still fat and I have tiny hands and size 5 feet! I also have a relatively small head and my face has tiny features! It's a bit ridiculous! *shrugs* guess we are just all unique!

Well, fat women sometimes need bigger gloves. That's pretty much it.

5'7" is indeed in the middle. :)

I don't know if weight necessarily affects the length of hands and feet, I can see the width though...
I'm just saying this because I have big feet and rather big hands and I'm not a very big girl otherwise.
