Ahhh...it is a weekend-long event that Heather's group (Heavenly Bodies)puts together (they usually do Memorial Day and Labor Day).

There are 2 dances and games, and meals - let me tell you - Heather and AnnMarie etc. know how to throw a party!!

Yeah, it generally goes something like this:

Sat night party
Hospitality after party
Sunday lunch event (scavenger hunt, game, something like that)
Sunday night party (sometimes karaoke/bar gathering, sometimes a PJ party, etc)
Monday farewell breakfast (usually around 11 am, for a couple of hours with prizes and stuff).

We have packages for all weekend, or just the dances, etc... so you can attend what you'd like.

When everything is set, we'll announce it, and provide all details. :D

YAY! That is excellant AnnMarie, I was worried about the scheduling. It is hard for me to get off on a saturday and seeing there is an after party on saturday (which is good because i would be getting there very late) and another party on sunday this is so doable for me :) I really wanted to get up there and visit you guys.

BUT - the event is at the Holiday Inn Select in Woburn - 781-935-8760.

Keep in touch with Mikey, he planned on going. I'm probably going to drive in but if I do it my way, I won't be passing through NYC. I'd take the Port Jefferson ferry into Bridgeport, CT and drive to Woburn from there. If we have room in the car and if you'd like me to pick you up at a Long Island train station, that can probably work out, too.
You may also want to contact Aris and see if she's going and how she's doing it. Keep in touch with us, we'll put it together somehow.

We have two things in our favor. The hotel is on favorable terns with the restaurant. If we have the clerk at the front desk call, the restaurant will hold a table for us and this will cut down the wait by a considerable measure and the restaurant will know exactly how to accommodate us before we arrive. If the relationship with the hotel is no longer being observed there's always my social connections there that may get us a table faster. If all of those should fail we'll have to wait like everybody else. But chances are really good that we won't have to.

we are calling upon the KIND DIM SOULS out there who would be interested in offering to help us ( lipmixgirl, miss toodles, the obstreperous ms. j, & toni) get to the cheesecake factory and then the hotel on saturday, then back to the fung wah on monday...

we are more than willing to pay for gas money...

I would strongly recommend going with Lucky Star (http://www.luckystarbus.com/) as a first choice in stead of Fung Wah. Fung Wah is much more popular than LS yet they provide the same service. As a result, Fung Wah is often packed to the gills while Lucky Star you can still get a seat to yourself on it. Once Fung Wah canceled one of their busses and I had to wait around for an hour and a half for the next. Go to Lucky Star first. The ticket depot for LS is right next to the booth for FW and the bus picks up right around the corner. The price is the same and they still show movies on their busses.

We've been talking about Sunday brunch, but I'd like to suggest Saturday as an alternative. I stay up really late on dance nights, so I'm unlikely to make it up for a 10 am brunch. And I agree with SVS that a bit more digestion time is needed between a Factory meal and the 5 pm group dinner.

I've been taking the FungWah bus for years and I've only had a problem once. The bus emitted a funny smell. I can't even tell you what it was, it wasn't the usual gas/motor oil/burning wires/transient smell and it stalled a time or two forcing the driver to get out and perform emergency surgery on it. Never any injuries or accidents, the drivers are safe and certified.

It was in the news a year or two ago that a FungWah bus caught fire on the road. I've heard a lot of negative commentary about FW since but from what I've seen this hasn't deterred too many of their die hard customers as their busses are aways full to the max. I continue to take it.

Lucky Star is not nearly as popular as FungWah. They've been in business for about as long as FW and are incident free. To be honest I've never ridden with them but have decided the next time I need to jaunt to New York, which will be in mid July, I'm taking Lucky Star. The service is practically identical. I'm switching merely because FW is too crowded now.

No frills bus service for thirty bucks round trip.

Greyhound service is reliable, clean and if any of those buses go up in flames, you know who to sue!:p

Honestly, the tickets are cheap and they have continous service out of Port Authority. I would rather spend the extra five to ten dollars and feel better about the ride than wonder about the reliability of a company I know very little to nothing at all (other than the pictures of the bus up in flames)

Port Authority is much easier for me to travel to, too. I've heard incidents where some of the chinatown bus companies overbooked trips, people were bumped back to later buses.

Au contrar...I did conceive of that option...nothing wrong with that either...its all about preferences here isn't it...its just that you have repeatedly ranted and raved about why men don't care for the apple (which I don't believe is neccessarily true) and lamented as to why we must pay such homage to the oh mighty derriere...that said one would not need to reach far to wonder if there is indeed booty envy.
