Well, I don't support him politically, but I still want a shirt that says "Kinky for Governor" or "Vote Kinky" or some such.

I'd love to see Kniky make it to Austin. If he gets enough signatures, I am deinitely voting this go round. But if he doesn't I wouldn't mind see "one tough grandma" take it. Rick Perry is pathetic.

He has enough signatures (see news story).
I'm voting for Chris Bell.
Now, what I would like to see is Lloyd Doggett run for Governor, or for that matter, President. I LOVE Lloyd Doggett. But I guess if he is Governor he can't be my Congressman anymore.:(

I like Bell. He was great city councilman and would have made a good mayor for Houston. Maybe calling out DeLay like he did when was a congressman will help come November.Chris' only problem is he is too low key. And when you are a Dem. running for statewide office in TX , you need to make sure you are being heard.

Kinky had a country rock band in the 70s, called Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jew-Boys. They had a hit song, "They Ain't Makin' Jews Like Jesus Anymore" (we don't turn the other cheek the way we done before)
He has since become a writer and animal welfare activist.
