Hello All,
I understand the ultra secretive Bilderberg Group is meeting in Canada this week in Ottawa. I heard about an incident involving an American named Alex Jones who flew in to Canada to cover this meeting that should bother everyone here involving Canadian customs officials. Please see the link below for more details. I was wondering if anyone here heard about the incident in question and what thoughts you have about the Bilderbergs and what they do, and if so what they are?

Sounds kinda like something out of a tabloid...
Traumatized midnight munchie snacker: The intergalactic storm troopers from Kjel held me captive in a White Castle restroom to prevent me from getting a secret message that was to be in my sack of fries.
Tabloid reporter: What proof do I have?
Traumatized midnight munchie snacker: Ask the guy with the mop who finally let me out. He'll tell you I was locked in the bathroom.
Tabloid reporter: There you have it folks...incontravertable proof that intergalactic storm troopers from Kjel are here and have infiltrated our fast food industry! What will be next? Our bowling alleys?

"their intent is to create a world government ruled by an elite group of people whose main objective is to control all the natural resources on the planet."
Seems a might bit redundant to me.

It is redundant, but then again it is a rather important point if true. Better that people not miss it the first time, but invariably some will so the redundancy does serve a good purpose in this case to catch those who might not be paying enough attention to what it is they are reading.

By redundant I meant that for all practical purposes, everything IS controlled by a few elite....directly or indirectly.

I've heard of the Bilderbergers in connection with efforts of well-meaning friends to recruit me to the John Birch Society. If I remember, the Bilderbergers are a secret organization aimed at disrupting Western Economics.
While I find many aims of the John Birch Society to be reputable: ie, vigilance against anti-Americanism, over-reaching foreign policy objectives, greater learning and adherence to the Constitution, etc, I find their brand of Conservatism as impractical and given to conspiracy theories (the height of intellectual laziness in my judgement). In addition, many of their true believers spend too much time pointing out folks who aren't Conservative enough for their liking, such as Rush Limbaugh, Dwight Eisenhower, George H W Bush, and well...the most prominent Conservative of all...me :)
Can you believe anyone would consider me too liberal? They do.
