Are we starting a civil war in Palestine ,or at least provoking one..????? Can we not get involved with every movement on this Earth.. Hamas is no good,but the PA isn't much better..Giving Abbas weapons to kill Hamas does us absolutely NO good on the world stage.

The United States has been arming people all over the world since 1945. Even unsaviory types, as long as it furthers either US Economic, military/security or national values.

But years past we also considered the PA a terrorist organization..Hamas is not recognized by Israel or the US. Hamas controls the Gaza strip. Pa controls the West bank. We cannot forget that Hezbollah controls Golan up north in Lebanon.For the US to be arming Abbas reallys scares me because it could ultimately escalate into a full blown war,which we will never win because neither side likes the US or Israel.It is just plain dumb to arm any of them.

Most Israelis do not have a problem with a functional independent Palestinian state dedicated to the interests of its people. What the Israelis have a problem with is a state on its borders whose leaders have repeatedly held themselves out to support its destriction. Up until recently, Israel (or the Zionist lobby, to quote a line from the above website) was the only democracy in the middle east. Call me cynical, but I have a hard time believing an article where the website on which it is hosted invites us to:

What the leaders of Israel have a problem with, is the formation of a Palestinian state. If even the most timid of Palestinian leaders like Abbas can not get Israel to negotiate, then where do the Palestinians turn?

What type of democracy is Israel that discriminates against Israeli Arab. As a recent Israeli Supreme Court ruling upheld a law that barred Palestinian spoouses of Israeli Arabs from living in Israel.

While I personally don't believe the State of Israel has the right to call itself a Jewish state, I DO believe it has the right to defend its citizens, its INNOCENT citizens from attack by extremist Muslim groups.

What about the INNOCENT Palestinians killed? Last week on the Gaza beach children were killed by Israeli submarine shooting. There is indiscriminate killing going on enough to a point that both sides are wrong.

Oh I largely agree with you, its just that IMNSHO, the "Palestinians" have screwed up many of their chances to have a free and independent Palestine.
