I have begun to seriously doubt that there are any men in the Chicago area that truly enjoy the company of BBW or SSBBW women. Especially tall men :smitten: .

I am ready to just throw in the towel and say to heck with it all. But I would get really bored really fast.

Sure, I've tried dating sites, blind dates, and even in a moment of insanity I even browsed craigslist (and ran screaming). Of course there were the little boys who think us larger ladies must be desperate and will take what ever we can get. So untrue. And the men who see large women as a fetishistic endeavor. Me...a fetish? Nope I don't think so.

But where are the real men? Do they exist?
So suggestions would be welcome. I haven't lived in Chicago long so maybe I am not looking in the right places.

Well I'm in the Chicago area. Butt I'm married to a SSBBW (5'1"-360), short (5'6") & almost twice your age(60). Most of the guys I know are already taken or probably too old for you. We just may not be in the 10% you are looking at or looking when you don't see. Good luck :)

I have found Chicago quite refreshing after living in Cali for 31 yrs. I was 40 when I first came back, size 18/20 and got flirted with and generally treated much better than in Cali. Most of my plump friends are involved in relationships. I never did find anyone, but that has more to do with my own personality, never had a problem getting dates through the personals.

I have heard straight single female friends of mine (thin & fat), around my age (45), say they think this is a hard town to date in--that it's very relationshippy, rather than date-y. Like--it's hard to meet people between relationships...everyone's kind of entrenched, more than some people at our age. I don't know if that's true or not, but just passing it along.

I think of Chicago as a pretty thick town, although I have asked male friends who said they haven't thought it was particularly. Certainly more than Manhattan or LA or something, but maybe it's more lean & urban than I think, in some places at least. I dunno.

I guess I am just chiming in here to say I don't know any magic answers. :) Isn't that helpful?

But Chicago is a very neighborhoody town--I do know that. It's really possible to meet people through friends of friends or by becoming part of one yourself. Local bar, local whatever.

I can't really give specifics on where I MET the guys, but I've encountered at least 3 guys from Chicago that do date BBW/SSBBW openly. And one or two sleazy closety types lol.

No, there aren't personal ads allowed on these forums, but there is an area called "Matching" when you go to DimensionsMagazine.com

You basically put up a personal ad with a pic (optional) and it "matches" you up. Or, well, it's supposed to. Hehe, it's not working perfectly right now. You can sort through it, though. Or, do what I do and just wait for the guys to contact you.

Have you tried ssbbwdating.com? It's free just to put an ad up. I had a paid membership for a year to that site, but never renewed it. I might. But even if you don't have a full membership, you'll be swamped with responses from guys there.

Oh, I forgot to add one place you might want to stay the hell away from.

There is one sort-of-popular for the wrong reasons site/social club that claims to be a size-acceptance group, but really isn't.
It's more like a size-tolerant group.

Also, there are waaay too many fake FA's in there.
For some reason, they also seem to have an awful lot of married/attached men pretending to be single as well.
And worse...Married/attached men pretending to be single while pretending to be an FA, Urgh!
One of the fake FA's is an assistant that helps run the group!!!

There's also a lot more...

I miss living in the south and I CANNOT wait to move back. The men here are..well they arent REALLY here.I have better luck with the ladies in this city than with men lol The bbw culture just isnt here like it is in the south.Oddly enough I find it easier to meet guys in NY than I do in Chicago so thats saying something.I just keep an open mind when it comes to daiting.If hes into bbws hes more than likely older and divorced,which is fine with me but those types dont exactly grow on tress either lol so you just have to play your cards right in this city and hope for the best
