I have written a story about a senior high school jock / captain of the football team getting fat. The first chapter of the story starts in his last year of high school with his gym teacher and two other class mates feeding him in detention.

I do want to post this story, its about 50 pages total in Microsoft word, but obviously I cant because of the R18 rule.

Any ideas on how i can alter the story so that i can post it without hugely changing the overall story arch.

I have thought of making it university instead of high school but you dont really have detention in university :/

I also have thought of making him 18 when the story starts and just mention that he's a bit stupid hence he's still in high school. Problem is i cant make all his class mates stupid.

I dont actually mention how old anyone is or that it is high school however anyone with half a brain will figure out that the story is taking place at a school ie class, detention, teachers etc... would i still get away with this?

Ideas?

Actually being 18 in high school isn't that uncommon. It doesn't mean that one is stupid. It can have to do with your age when you enrolled, your birthdate, etc.

If your main protagonist is defined as 18 and the others seem to be the same without beng specified there should be no issue. However, I would avoid skating into grey areas by having sophomore girl friends, allusions to younger sisters, etc.

cool thanks for the advice, where I'm from the ages for school are a bit different then in the States or Europe.

Also no younger characters in the story so should be all good, I'll post it once I've made a few tweaks that I'm still not happy with.

Yeah, a lot of schools accept people until the age of 18, or older if they are held back. It sounds like a similar scenario to my story, which focuses on a group of 18 year old girls at high school.
