Just to add to this, nylon rope is also quite slippery and stiff, so not good at holding knots, and you'd need to pull it a bit tighter to make it stay, which is not good for people with circulation issues. I think this type of rope is okay for making wrist and ankle restraints to use for hog ties and such, but not so good for shibari.
