Please tell us a little about yourself. Age, locale, work, family, whatever you'd like to share.

I am 38 and live in Aurora, Colorado. My job is in Denver's LoDo which is significant because I am in the center of eating heaven! On my block there is a diner, an Indian restaurant, a Mexican restaurant, a Moroccan restaurant, a BBQ & Burger place with Starbucks on the corner. Around the corner from Starbucks is a Chipotle and a Noodles & Co. Across the street is another Mexican restaurant and a fish taco place. On the other side of the block is a New Orleans-style restaurant which is near an Irish pub and a fish house. That is only the start! Withing a 3 block radius I think there are 30+ restaurants. I have some mobility issues, so I stick to my block for the most part.

Tell us a bit about your relationship with food. Are you a 'foodie' and, if so, what do you think makes you a foodie?
I guess so if it means that I enjoy food. I think about food, plan my meals in my head and cannot pass up cooking shows or food porn. Even the Wednesday grocery circular is fun! Only within the past two years have I been comfortable with this fact. It was Mo'Nique's Book "Skinny Women Are Evil" that started my journey to self-embracement. In the book she unashamedly expresses her love of food and that as a big girl I can openly enjoy my meals. I cannot believe how many wonderful meals I did not enjoy because a niggling voice in my head guilted me with every bite. In my house food was very, very, very highly controlled. I think it was more financial, but my dad was obsessed with my getting fat and that may have also played a role. Even today I find myself "sneaking" food. Does anyone remember the episode of I Love Lucy where Lucy hides food in their Paris hotel room? I reinacted that when I was about 12 years old. Hahahaa Oh, I collect cookbooks.. or at least used to. I need to get of many of them.

Is there a special food, or type of food that would elect you president of its fan club?
I am the Queen of Appetizerville! I am obsessed with appetizers, hors d'oeuvres, little bites, starters.. I love them all. It is the small size and assortment that just drives me nuts I have appetizer magazines and cookbooks that I lust over. Should I ever get married, my reception will be one big old appetizer-fest! Can you feel the love of appetizers oozing off the screen

What is the freakiest or most fun food fact about you?
I was a Dreyer's Ice Cream Ambassador. They had one per state as a marketing ploy back in the late 90s and we all got free monthly shipments of ice cream flavors and treats to test. We had to rate them... such a horrible task. I repped Colorado. I got a lab coat (which doesn't fit), a golden spoon, freezer glove, and 20 coupons for free 1/2 gallons of which I have 10 left. I use them when they have buy one, get one free. That way I get them both for free!! I also got to meet John Harrison, official taste tester for Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream and supposed inventor of Cookies 'n' Cream ice cream.

Do you like to cook? Do you have a dish or dishes you consider your specialties?
I love to cook and bake. I have not done as much as I would like since my job is really demanding these days. My specialty is not a food but a method. I can cook anything during commercial breaks. It means adjusting cooking temps, etc. Of course, having a DVR takes the fun out since I can just pause the program. The commercial method also allows me to pace myself since my back hurts after standing for a while. I am also the princess of the one-pan/pot/crockpot meal. All cuisines have recipes that can be made in a single vessel, so there is variety.

Do you think more about food or sex? (this might help with the "are you a foodie" question, above)
Equal amounts. Between the two, I am lucky I can get a thought in about anything else
