![]() If you like swords (I do!) and pocket knives you might have heard of Cold Steel. I've held their products but never owned them. Some day I WILL have one of their swords. Lynn C. Thompson, owner of Cold Steel, is a big ol' boy. If you're sensitive don't order the video. He cuts hunks of meat with his products. He uses one of his swords to cut a pig cadaver in half. Not for the faint of heart. He also slays thick manila rope repeatedly, as you can see in this screen shot. It's always nice to see a BHM showin' off their stuff while succeeding in a business they love. ![]()

Canonista:
have you seen the History Channel Shows on the Samurai. Very interesting and there was also a Program on Nova regarding the Samurai sword and it's unique properties. http://www.veoh.com/videos/v2484053qRBbhKy http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/samurai/ |

I fired my cable company a few years ago so I don't see the rare quality programming sporadically found on TV. I'd like to see that one, though. As a child of the 80's I just can't get past the cheesy Rising Sun headbands and pot-metal ninja stars. When I see Katanas, Wakazashis, and Tantos I'm reminded of the cheap imitation stuff the importers inflicted upon us and want no part of Japanese swords. For years I swore "Tanto" was Japanese for "broken sword". I saw the blade of more than one fly out of the handle as it's owner swung it around doing their best Ninja impression. I'm all about the European stuff, especially weapons used by the common man back from around 1000 A.D. until the invention of gunpowder. Most stuff was plain, rugged, and practical. Ornate fittings on bejeweled swords were not the rule of the day in Europe. http://www.albion-swords.com/swords.htm This guy has a pretty good reputation, too. His are more expensive and you wouldn't be supporting a BHM (one of us). Personally, I'm probably more the Mace or War Hammer type, but a good sword will look very nice on my wall.

I thought of you when I saw the DVD they give away. It's just that it was good enough to share with everybody instead of just PM'ing it to you.
