Default Target anti GLBTQ?

I just came across an article that reports on Lady Gaga ending a partnership with Target (see here) over an anti-LGBT stance. Is this for real? I generally believe that a company can spend its money any way they choose, but this would be a bit much. Does Target ineed have this reputation?

Lady Gaga's decision looks for real. Apparently Target Corp. has made a huge donation to an anti-gay marriage politician and Minnesotan gubernatorial candidate, Tom Emmer. Target Boycott Movement . . . .

In addition to the donations mentioned, a few of the Target board of directors also donated directly to orgs against gay marriage in CA. I have not shopped at Target since I first heard about this, nor do I dine at Chick-fil-A since it came out that they support anti-gay organizations on a nationwide scale.
