Isn't that what tequila is made from?

If so... I've been using it for years, too

I use it too, but don't really have anything special to add about it. It's a sweetener, no real flavor of its own, I just use as sugar substitute.

I got agave to try, but haven't yet, because when sweetener is called for, I'm always reaching for the brown rice syrup, I love the flavor. But I will! I got the dark agave in hopes that it will have some flavor, too.

Brown rice syrup is hard to find...I had to get mine on Amazon.

I use agave on my morning oatmeal though. It's a great sub for sugar/honey.

I have an Asian market near me. I saw it at Whole Foods for 3x the price, but I don't think it's worth that cost, so check your ethnic food aisle or market. To me it has a lovely rich nutty flavor that is a total bonus.

Agave is definitely what is used to make tequila. I have wanted to try agave nectar and am wondering if anyone has used it in coffee. If so, is it an acceptable sugar substitute? Thanks!

Yup totally acceptable in coffee...like liquid sugar, doesn't have taste like say honey does.

u can use agave in any & everything that sugar is used for, i even use it to bake my corn bread with. but when u use it to bake with u should turn your oven temp down 25 degrees or it'll taste like burnt sugar, but what i use it for mainly is my iced tea, i'm always walking around with a big glass of green or black tea, so that's what i use it for since i'm not that much of a sweets eater.

I cook agave, a little water, berries, and a splash of lemon together to make a warm fruit compote that's good over cake, pancakes, etc.

I am starting to use it in lieu of white sugar (in tea and my morning smoothie so far) and am liking it. I find I have to use more than I'd like to get the amount of sweetness I like, though, and it's pretty high in calories (60 cal/tbsp), so I'm trying to adjust my taste buds to appreciate less sweetness.

Trader Joe's has a dark agave syrup that tastes more like sorgum or molasses. I like the dark caramel note in rich flavored coffees myself.
