You have to see these things in perspective. If you were a policeman, whom would you rather arrest -- a Mafia capo surrounded by henchmen armed with everything from derringers to bazookas, or a six-year-old armed with a piece of chalk?

Sounds like zero-tolerance run amok. It is graffiti so it must be illegal? Of course, chalk is non-permanent. The next good rain will wash it away.

What have we come to as a society, I mean chalk... really?

This is just a way for municipal governments to find a way to tax you on anything you do. Court fees of $35 plus a fine for the "vandalism". Now with red light cameras doing away with "due process", I am just waiting for the day until state governments start putting speed cameras across highways like in Europe to continue adding more to their revenue collecting. The police state is edging ever closer... big brother is watching you.

This is what I used to love about being a cop. On your beat, there would be home invasions, armed robberies and car thefts, but your local politician would get a bug up his ass because his neighbor's dog is barking at 3:00am and major crimes would go on hold. Task forces would be created, officers pulled from other districts and SWAT would be on 24 hour standy all because of this. And because shit rolls down hill, instead of just telling the guy to shut his dog up, you're pressured to cite the guy. That guy then calls the local news paper, then they inquire as to why this guy was the only person arrested for this offense when the department gets hundreds of barking dog complaints every year. So like most departments do, they overreact and everybody starts getting locked up for barking dog violations. Then the same local newspaper runs a story about how crime is running rampant and our departments priority is locking up people because their dog had to take a shit in the wee hours of the morning and then tell everyone about it. This makes the police look bad while the politician who started the whole shit storm gets no mention in this at all. I'm pretty sure all these police departments didn't just get together and decide to start locking up kids for drawing on the sidewalk.

Hold on, let me stick my head up my ass so I can see things from your perspective. Most cops go their entire career dreaming about getting their chance to grab a high profile case. Most cops disregard the danger aspect of the job for a chance at being noticed with the hopes of being promoted or transferred out of patrol into a specialized unit. Depending on the size of the department, most cops end up getting dispatched to in progress complaints such as robberies, burglaries and domestics with little or no back up at all. If you are insinuating that cops are douchebags, I suggest you pick a fight with the next cop you encounter and see how it turns out.

unless you really planing on doing some thing , big brother (speed cameras) is a good thing specially when he can't discriminate between his " brothers " .

Actually, one of my good friends is an artist and his preferred medium is spray paint on any flat surface he can find. Sure, its graffiti and illegal and he's actually been arrested for it a couple times, but his skills are incredible. The way he captures things with some cans of spray paint... its amazing. I have mad respect for my homeboy.
