I don't see Hillary having anyone claim sexual assault.

The thing is that a lot of women have had to deal with groping males, so it is not really something to make light of. The topic of Trump and groping has been under discussion where I work and with my friends and every single female that I have spoken to without exception has said that they have had unwanted groping from a male. (I realize this is anecdotal evidence) I didn't ask they just volunteered the info as a part of the conversation. I also have been groped and Trump's implication that we all want it/allow it/ beg for it because he is wealthy is just disgusting. This speaks to a wider cultural problem of women are just supposed to accept this and not make a fuss as can be seen by the response of people towards his accusers.

So besides all of the other racist and vile things he has said he added that it is ok to touch someone else without their consent. The real question is why are people even willing to vote for someone who says these things, why are people willing to accept him as a potential president? How can this ever be justifiable? Why should women or indeed anyone have to put up with this behavior? And what does it say about someone that they are willing to vote for someone that says these things?(even if you agree with him that it was just talk you can't deny he said it)

Good point. The last go-around took "history of promotion of birtherism" off the table. The current one is taking a specific adjective off the table. And now it appears we're close to having this topic foreclosed as well.

At some point, there's going to be nothing left to talk about -- yeah, it's a slippery slope argument, but this is affecting the scope of the available discussion space.

What it says is something close to central in conservatism, and it goes back to Thucydides: "Right, as the world goes, is only in question between equals in power, while the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must."

This is why you see conservatives speak mostly in terms of "liberty" rather than "rights".

With all due respect, you are totally clueless what conservatism means. In fact, some of the most despotic governments in the 20th century are what we today refer to as socialist.

And, only a liberal would try to make this distinction. A person has a right to free speech which is an expression of their liberty.

Yeah, that's the problem here.

Some of them even claim to be democratic. Your point?

Liberty is the exercise of what freedom you have the power to exert. Rights are intrinsic and do not depend on your ability to enforce or defend them through your own resources.

Conservatives appear to dislike government defending the rights of people who cannot defend them on their own.
