I work in a school and they throw away books all of the time. One day I found a book of short stories called "Over the Mountain, Impresions It had the best storie in it. It is called "Yummers" by James Marshall. There is a pig named Emily and she is upset that she is gaining weight. SO she decides to get exercise, she tries jumping rope and does not like it. So she calls her friend Eugene and he suggests walking. He is a turtle and is not fat like Emily is. But walking makes Emily hungry so everywhere they walk, she eats something.(Eugege is ok with this and even offers Emily food).Every time she eats something she says: "Yummers! Well after a while she gets a stomach ache and he calls a cab. He goes to see her the next day and she is in bed and feeling better. Eugene brings her flowers and suggests that she stay in bed and eat plenty of food. Emily says "Yummers ! and the story ends) It is such a cute story, I grabbed the book and read the story all of the time. ![]() |
