What does a BHM have to do to get a date in this state? Oh yeah i forgot drop 200 lbs and become rich, handsome, and famous. Sorry Im just going through a phase right now. Everything sucks and im fed up with it.

Believe me, a lot of us know how you feel. It can be really frustrating. Just try to keep a positive attitude and hang out with your friends while you can. When that special someone comes along, you won't have as much time to be with them. I wish you the best of luck.

To make a gross generalization, there are two sorts of people: those who care about status and those who don’t. Women who care about status are going to be looking for a guy who raises their status, by being a hunk, or rich, or famous, or some combination of those (for varying values of ‘hunk’ ‘rich’ and ‘famous’ depending on the woman. For some a normal looking guy with a full time job who plays for a local senior fast-ball team qualifies just fine). Women who are not so concerned about their status are going to be hoping to meet some guy that makes them happy, who is a nice guy, who they are compatible with, etc.

Of course, gross generalizations are dangerous. Most people care about status at least some, most people care about being happy and compatible at least some. So it is really a question more of proportions of those two. But in broad strokes, some won’t give a guy much of a chance if he doesn’t meet some standard that they have, while other won’t give a guy a chance if they don’t think they’d be happy with him.

If you are a BHM, unless you are very wealthy or famous, you aren’t going to make it over the bar for most status conscious women….unless they are in a position where simply that you wash, have your teeth, and make more money than you spend on beer is a step up.

There are lots of women who are not that status conscious, but I think that they are probably a bit harder to meet, and generally make less effort to meet guys. If you are looking for the highest status partner that you can land, it makes sense that you need to make at least fleeting contact with as many possible partners as possible, to find the highest status one that is interested in you. On the other hand if you mostly want to be happy, are you apt to put yourself through all the stress of evaluating so many people and rejecting the vast majority of them?

Which is all by the way of saying, that if it seems to you that all the women there are wanting you to “drop 200 lbs and become rich, handsome, and famous.” Then I think you are mostly meeting the wrong women. Absolutely guaranteed that there are lots of women who have that as less of a priority, but they will often not be in the same places as the women who would want that of you.

And of course, it matters what you want. If you want a hotty who knows how to party hard and wears the latest styles and goes to the hottest clubs, eh, you’ll have to play by their rules. You already described what some of those rules are.

Not to much better in Florida. Speaking of which, there is the possibility that I will be moving back to Atlanta for the first time in 23 years. There ARE alot of beautiful women here in this area I've noticed (currently house-sitting for a damaged property in Gwinnett County my parents own that I could take over). My best advice, hit on every women you see that catches your fancy, bbw or not. You never know when you just might find the one FFA in the room. Good luck mi amigo!

here in south carolina, you seem big bellied men with wives all the time and I have spoken to the wives and husbands and they prefer their men fat and sometimes even fatter maybe it is a redneck thing that most others in other states dont get.....

but back to the generalization....now the women I meet are such women who are looking for that rich man to raise their bar of existence..EX: flava flav on tv..butt ugly but good heart..you ever see those women, beautiful yet they are gold diggers and lets not forget the late Anna Nicole Simpson..claims to have loved that old 87 year millionaire and I bet she did and considering he had all that money..though makes me wonder if she have been with him if he had no money? MOST LIKELY NOT!!!!!!!!

I see the same thing in the gay community also and not much different just the same sex..Sometimes I wish the hunky men here were gay, I would treat them like gold...or a priceless object de art. but that aint going to happen and I am not one to prowl on a straight website so I stand in the distance and admire the beauty from a far.
