I'm more impressed by this kid's ability to articulate! He's so intelligent he's almost like an alien child!

I was initially going to make the statement that a ten-year-old will be passionate for ANY cause his parents espouse to him, be it religion, racism, or whatever, but this kid seems to have no problem of thinking on his own. So right on kid!

Would you all do me a favor? Imagine someone making a movie about a 10-year-old evil genius who wants to take over the planet with giant robots. This kid would be so perfect for the lead role it ain't even funny.

Fortunately this kid has nothing but kindness and equality in his heart. So glad he's on our side.

I love him too! Regardless of whether people agree with the position, it would be nice if adults gave half as much thought to the lives and needs/desires of other people as this kid seems to.

(Plus the dad is super hot. It was distracting me...)

I saw this video on a news program and was very impressed with the young man. It's nice to see someone so young have a conscience about the plight of others and to act on that conscience.

I really love this video.

Not only is he cute, but he's only 10yo. When one thinks of a 10yo they think playing with transformers and getting their new shoes all dirtied up that momma just bought him. This young MAN is standing up for what he believes in. You guys laugh at him, but if he was my son I would definitely nuture his ideals. I think these are the exact sorts of people that should be involved with making decisions. The seeds of tomorrow's youth have been planted; now time to sit back and watch them grow

What he says is spot on. There isn't liberty and justice for all.

Hiya F&P. If I'm not mistaken I think I'm the only one making light of his stern and crucial manner. I'm very much overwhelmed by his firm conviction to a very positive cause, but more so I'm blown away by his ability to articulate like a mini John Houseman. I was so inhibited and insecure as a child, I could barely communicate to my teachers let alone complete adult strangers. But I am amused by his serious persona. If he was in the TV show "The Little Rascals" his name would undoubtedly be Brains. But I agree with you. I'd be soooo proud if this were my son.

Maybe this is totally out of line coming from a Canadian, but it is just flipping strange to me that kids have to recite the pledge every day... seems very totalitarian and kinda scary to me. Sort of one step removed from brainwashing. Especially when there truly isn't liberty and justice for all, merely an illusion of such a thing.

I concur......didn't think much of it as a child though. It bothered me more as an adult and I read books like Animal Farm and We The Living.....

I think, if I were that child's teacher, I would want to reassure him that he's right: we don't have liberty and justice for all. But I would also want him to realize that that's not what the pledge is about. As I understand it, we are pledging our allegiance to an America where there IS liberty and justice: we are committing ourselves to work towards bringing this about. Or, if you prefer, we're saying what we want to be when we grow up.
