Please tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Justin. I'm not really a Foodee Board regular, but I like to drop by from time to time. I am not the most avid food experienced person, nor do I like to experiment much at all. I'll gladly take something I know I love and enjoy over something I'm not sure if I'll like or not. That might have something to do with limited funds (especially for going out to eat), but might also be a lack of interest on the experimentation.
Though, I have nothing against experimenting, and gladly do so when I am in the mood.

Tell us a bit about your relationship with food. Are you a 'foodie' and, if so, what do you think makes you a foodie?
My relationship is not fully developed yet, I don't think. I'm not sure I'm a 'Foodie', but I think I probably am. I'm one of those people that, when presented with a plate full of great food, will never let any of it go to waste. Even if I go up for seconds (or thirds), I'll eat my entire plate, just because when I'm eating food that I really like, I don't want to let go of it. It often puts my stomach and esophagus in overdrive and I wind up in pain later. I don't regret nourishing my body to the upper limits of what it can hold.

Is there a special food, or type of food that would elect you president of its fan club?
No, I do not think there is. However, down to the core of it I love American Grill foods (hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, 'meat and potatoes', etc..) as well as Pasta. I cannot say I know more about them or enjoy them more than others (hence the hesitation for saying I'd be the President of the Fan Club), but I enjoy them a great deal. Fettuccine alfredo, spaghetti, macaroni & cheese, ziti... I can never get enough of pasta; even if it's not ground-shatteringly delicious.
I even stock up on $0.98 microwavable pastas all the time. Can't get enough of pasta, as well as a cheeseburger (which is what I order 99% of the time I go out to eat).

What are the freakiest or most fun food facts about you?
There is nothing freaky, nor is there anything really "fun," either.

Do you like to cook?
I do not like to cook at all. I never like to spend the time to make something really good to eat and will very often take the short, quick route in order to get something to eat. *Shrugs* There are times when I'll spend some time to make food really good, but not usually. It has increasingly become a rare occasion to cook a meal now that I am single.

Do you think more about food or sex?
Sex. Though food is close behind.

Iíve been meaning to do this, but Iím a procrastinator. Plus, Iím also a Lazy Slug. Put those two things together and I donít get much done!

Please tell us a little about yourself. Age, locale, work, family, whatever you'd like to share.
Iím 44 years old. Iíve lived in Southern NJ all of my life. Actually, I live on the very block where I grew up! I guess Iím in a rut?

I work as a secretary in a small office. Iím fortunate enough to have most of my family living within just a few miles.

New Jersey really is the land of good food. Ever since Europeans came to the ďnew world,Ē NJ has been ethnically diverse. Our supermarkets are stocked with all sorts of yummy things. You canít throw a stone without hitting a family-owned Italian restaurant. (No Olive Garden or Subway for me, baby!) If you go hungry here, itís your own fault!

Tell us a bit about your relationship with food. Are you a 'foodie' and, if so, what do you think makes you a foodie?
Iím not sure what the criteria is to be officially considered a foodie. I certainly do enjoy food. Oh boy, do I ever! I will admit, however, that I am not a food expert in that Iím far from a gourmet cook. I just know that if it tastes good, Iíll eat it. Gladly.

Is there a special food, or type of food that would elect you president of its fan club?
Chocolate cake.

What is the freakiest or most fun food fact about you?
Iíve been told I eat like a child. If Iím presented with a plate of food, Iíll eat one thing at a time, leaving my most favorite thing until last. That means usually I start with the veggies Ö eat Ďem first and get it over with! I also donít like my food to touch or mix. Stewed tomatoes are always an issue because the juice spreads all over the plate! (If I can, I put stewed tomatoes and other juicy things in their own little bowl.)

Do you like to cook? Do you have a dish or dishes you consider your specialties?
I used to, but now I have trouble with it. Several years ago I won a family ďmac & cheese cookoffĒ so I guess if I had a specialty, that would be it.

Do you think more about food or sex? (this might help with the "are you a foodie" question, above)
Oh, food. Definitely. I go to sleep thinking about what Iíll have for breakfast. While Iím at work, I think about what Iíll have for supper when I get home or what Iíll have for a snack. I get groceries every other week, and I spend the time between grocery orders dreaming up what to buy.

Yup, food is good.

Please tell us a little about yourself. Age, locale, work, family, whatever you'd like to share.

I am 38 and live in Aurora, Colorado. My job is in Denver's LoDo which is significant because I am in the center of eating heaven! On my block there is a diner, an Indian restaurant, a Mexican restaurant, a Moroccan restaurant, a BBQ & Burger place with Starbucks on the corner. Around the corner from Starbucks is a Chipotle and a Noodles & Co. Across the street is another Mexican restaurant and a fish taco place. On the other side of the block is a New Orleans-style restaurant which is near an Irish pub and a fish house. That is only the start! Withing a 3 block radius I think there are 30+ restaurants. I have some mobility issues, so I stick to my block for the most part.

Tell us a bit about your relationship with food. Are you a 'foodie' and, if so, what do you think makes you a foodie?
I guess so if it means that I enjoy food. I think about food, plan my meals in my head and cannot pass up cooking shows or food porn. Even the Wednesday grocery circular is fun! Only within the past two years have I been comfortable with this fact. It was Mo'Nique's Book "Skinny Women Are Evil" that started my journey to self-embracement. In the book she unashamedly expresses her love of food and that as a big girl I can openly enjoy my meals. I cannot believe how many wonderful meals I did not enjoy because a niggling voice in my head guilted me with every bite. In my house food was very, very, very highly controlled. I think it was more financial, but my dad was obsessed with my getting fat and that may have also played a role. Even today I find myself "sneaking" food. Does anyone remember the episode of I Love Lucy where Lucy hides food in their Paris hotel room? I reinacted that when I was about 12 years old. Hahahaa Oh, I collect cookbooks.. or at least used to. I need to get of many of them.

Is there a special food, or type of food that would elect you president of its fan club?
I am the Queen of Appetizerville! I am obsessed with appetizers, hors d'oeuvres, little bites, starters.. I love them all. It is the small size and assortment that just drives me nuts I have appetizer magazines and cookbooks that I lust over. Should I ever get married, my reception will be one big old appetizer-fest! Can you feel the love of appetizers oozing off the screen

What is the freakiest or most fun food fact about you?
I was a Dreyer's Ice Cream Ambassador. They had one per state as a marketing ploy back in the late 90s and we all got free monthly shipments of ice cream flavors and treats to test. We had to rate them... such a horrible task. I repped Colorado. I got a lab coat (which doesn't fit), a golden spoon, freezer glove, and 20 coupons for free 1/2 gallons of which I have 10 left. I use them when they have buy one, get one free. That way I get them both for free!! I also got to meet John Harrison, official taste tester for Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream and supposed inventor of Cookies 'n' Cream ice cream.

Do you like to cook? Do you have a dish or dishes you consider your specialties?
I love to cook and bake. I have not done as much as I would like since my job is really demanding these days. My specialty is not a food but a method. I can cook anything during commercial breaks. It means adjusting cooking temps, etc. Of course, having a DVR takes the fun out since I can just pause the program. The commercial method also allows me to pace myself since my back hurts after standing for a while. I am also the princess of the one-pan/pot/crockpot meal. All cuisines have recipes that can be made in a single vessel, so there is variety.

Do you think more about food or sex? (this might help with the "are you a foodie" question, above)
Equal amounts. Between the two, I am lucky I can get a thought in about anything else

Tell us a bit about your relationship with food. Are you a 'foodie' and, if so, what do you think makes you a foodie?
I don't know if I am a foodie, but I love food, preparing it, the science and art of it and I love feeding others. So maybe I am a foodie.

Is there a special food, or type of food that would elect you president of its fan club?
I have tried to learn about all kinds of food. My favorites that I seem to come back to over are; Italian, Latin/Spanish, American "Soul" food and fusion Asian.

What is the freakiest or most fun food fact about you?
Freakiest: Banana Baby food is not just for babies Fun Fact: for my 10thth birthday my grandmother made cupcakes enough for my entire school! over 500! and she surprised me. When I walked off the elevator in her building I said to my mom mmmm someone baked a cake. When i opend her door there were cupcakes on ever flat surface!!

I'm Fuzzy. At last count, I was 41, and my dream of being a professionally paid chef has not yet been realized. I currently work for a medical devices manufacturing company in their IT department.

Tell us a bit about your relationship with food. Are you a 'foodie' and, if so, what do you think makes you a foodie?
My name is Fuzzy, and I'm a Foodie. I live to eat, rather than eating to live. I was raised by a foodie mother that always made sure that there was lots of food on the table, as well as in the pantry. My brothers and sisters never went without, and I never had to sneak food, because it was always available.

Is there a special food, or type of food that would elect you president of its fan club?
Pasta. If you were able to browse thru my pantry/storage, you would find more shapes, colors, styles, etc of pasta than you can shake a stick at. And if you did find something I don't have, well, its just because my grocer doesn't carry it. I am particularly fond of spaghetti.

What is the freakiest or most fun food fact about you?
As a kid, I was the pickiest eater alive. I hated everything. Actually, I think I was the problem child, and being picky was my out. Anyway, I was a very skinny boy. I wasn't anorexic, I just didn't eat that much. It wasn't until I had graduated from high school, weighing 140 pounds, entering the real world with only my meager cooking skills and very small selection of food I would eat; I soon realized I had missed out on alot.

Do you like to cook? Do you have a dish or dishes you consider your specialties?
Surviving on ramen and mac/cheese on a college budget teaches a person one of two things. You either learn to cook, or you find someone to live with that can cook. (or you eat out alot). I had a myriad of roommates in the late eighties that I was able to glean cooking skills from. I discovered that I have a love for cooking. ( and a equal love for eating too ) Having spent those years in the south, my specialties include bbq, cajun/creole, southern, and tex/mex. My favorite spice is Tabasco.

Do you think more about food or sex? (this might help with the "are you a foodie" question, above)
Food. 'Nuff said.

26, Michigan, I work in a psych hospital.

Tell us a bit about your relationship with food. Are you a 'foodie' and, if so, what do you think makes you a foodie?

I'm not entirely sure what a foodie is. I have a love affair with food as I absolutely love to eat. I love to cook and bake as well. If I had more time, I'd whip up delicious 7+ course meals for fun.

Is there a special food, or type of food that would elect you president of its fan club?

Nothing immediately comes to mind because I often go through phases where I crave one particular item. Lately it's been dry roasted pumpkin seeds. Before that it was crackers and dip. But.....I do love the Chinese buffet, so I would definitely be queen of that. LOL I love pasta and seafood too.

What is the freakiest or most fun food fact about you?

Uhm...not sure if it's considered freaky, but I don't like my food to mix. Each thing needs its own little space or I tend to eat one thing at a time. Sometimes I mix food up like corn and mashed potatoes with goes great with ham. I also like to mix pork tenderloin with rice and brats with rice. I guess the funniest thing is that I can mix almost anything with pasta. Two nights ago I made pasta and ate it with a ham sandwich.

Do you like to cook? Do you have a dish or dishes you consider your specialties?

I do like to cook when I have the time. I like to go the extra mile and use fresh herbs from my garden and create fun shapes out of cloth napkins.

My specialty is anything with pasta for the most part. I like mixing herbs together to mix with the pasta to create different flavors.

Do you think more about food or sex? (this might help with the "are you a foodie" question, above)

Well, I'm Lloyd (one of the best here on Dims! lol)! I'm 19, living in Pineville, Louisiana, and I'm currently a college student learning about Electronics.

Tell us a bit about your relationship with food. Are you a 'foodie' and, if so, what do you think makes you a foodie?

Well, yeah, I'd say that I'm a foodie. I mean, I do love me some food! I'm almost always hungry, even when I'm full. It's kinda odd, too, because when I was younger, I used to hurry up and eat my food. Nowadays, I tend to savor every bite.

Is there a special food, or type of food that would elect you president of its fan club?

PASTA!!!! I loves me some pasta... and cheeseburgers, too. If I don't have pasta or a cheeseburger once a week, I get cranky and evil!

What are the freakiest or most fun foods fact about you?

Not that I know of....

Do you like to cook?

Well, I don't know how to cook. So... no.

Do you think more about food or sex?

Well, since I'm a virgin, I'd have to say FOOOOOOOOOD!

Please tell us a little about yourself. My name is Angela, I'm 30 yo, live in Kent, UK and work as a civil servant. I am married with no kids and no plans for kids, through choice.

Tell us a bit about your relationship with food. I could go on for yonks here! I have been on and off of diets for the last 10 years or so, successfully getting to 'goal' with WW, only to re-gain some, lost it, regain etc. I am now working on being fat positivie and loving my body. Part of that is agreeing with myself to eat whatever I fancy, when I fancy it. I love most food and will try pretty much anything.

Is there a special food, or type of food that would elect you president of its fan club? Hmmm - Oh, I know - CINNABON!!!!

What is the freakiest or most fun food fact about you? I can't think of anything. I am dull! LOL

Do you like to cook? Do you have a dish or dishes you consider your specialties? I adore cooking, especially baking. My husband would say that my speciality is chicken and mushroom risotto, Coke chicken and roast dinners.

Do you think more about food or sex? (this might help with the "are you a foodie" question, above) Food! LOL

Default Hello from a newbie in Kansas!

Please tell us a little about yourself. Age, locale, work, family, whatever you'd like to share.
Hello! I'm a 43 year old lady living in Kansas and working at a nonprofit agency. I am new to this site, but have been encouraged to come in and explore and see what it has to offer. I must admit, I was drawn to the foodee board immediately, as I've had an above normal love for all things food related as long as I can remember. How wonderful to find like minded folk!

Tell us a bit about your relationship with food. Are you a 'foodie' and, if so, what do you think makes you a foodie?
When I was ten I used to cut out the little pictures of packages of food from the magazines....and looking at a refrigerator full of food in the department store ads would mesmerize me. Food is passionate and touches on all aspects of our senses....what is there not to love about it?

Is there a special food, or type of food that would elect you president of its fan club? There is a Chinese restaurant in Lawrence, KS that I've been visiting for 10+ years and I've introduced this place to literally dozens of friends and family -- they really should comp. my meals now, darn it.

What is the freakiest or most fun food fact about you?
I totally blame my Dad for this....but I can't eat a bowl of chili without a HUGE dallop of peanut butter on the side.

Do you like to cook? Do you have a dish or dishes you consider your specialties? LOVE to cook and told I'm pretty good at it -- I've had my own burrito business before, but if I were to name a favorite meal of mine to cook, it's a seasoned ribeye steak with bacon wrapped green beans and a fresh tossed salad...it's from my old low-carb days, but still a favorite of mine. I also make a killer cheeseball.

Do you think more about food or sex? (this might help with the "are you a foodie" question, above) Oh gosh...kinda tingly thinking about BOTH actually, but must confess food seems to be more on my mind than ever before. I've been a BBW my whole adult life, but to discover there are men who enjoy a super size BBW...wow...it's all very fun and exciting and HOT to me. So, I'll say food, but sex is a VERY close second.

Thanks for the opportunity to express my foodee thoughts!

.. L ..

Please tell us a little about yourself. Age, locale, work, family, whatever you'd like to share.
Name is Debz I live in Portland OR with my amazing husband Steve. I was a baker for 20 years. I am currently unemployed and using the time to work on my screenplays.
Tell us a bit about your relationship with food. Are you a 'foodie' and, if so, what do you think makes you a foodie?
I am definitely a foodie. I read cookbook like they are mystery novels (which I love), I spend a lot of time creating recipes, figuring out the perfect menu for dinner party and then worrying that people won't get enough to eat.
Is there a special food, or type of food that would elect you president of its fan club?
Chinese food, especially Dim Sum! Love the stuff and it is the perfect occasion to get together with my girlfriends to talk and eat.
What is the freakiest or most fun food fact about you?
I created the Hefe Bun recipe for New Seasons Market in Portland, OR. I created a lot of other recipes, but this is my favorite combining baking and beer, now that is bliss.
Do you like to cook? Do you have a dish or dishes you consider your specialties?
I LOVE to cook, I do it to relax. I have seasonal specialties: baked beans during the summer, spanakopita almost any time, chicken soup, the list goes on! Hell I even can all my own jams, make my own pickles...love the whole process of creating food.
Do you think more about food or sex? (this might help with the "are you a foodie" question, above)
Got to admit: it would be food...followed up by thinking about sex...followed up with the perfect post sex snack...I think you get the picture.

1. Please tell us a little about yourself. Age, locale, work, family, whatever you'd like to share.
My name is Selena, I'm 32 and I have a 9 yr old son in the 4th grade. I'm from Jersey, born and bred. Single, never married. I have three siblings, a sister (30) and 2 brothers (26 and 28), and a 6 year old nephew (my youngest brother's son). My Mom is a great Mom and the greatest Grandmother EVER, my son just loves her so much. She epitomizes the whole "Grandma's are allowed to spoil the Grandbaby's, that's their job!" deal .

2. Tell us a bit about your relationship with food. Are you a 'foodie' and, if so, what do you think makes you a foodie?
I don't think I'm a "foodie". I learned to cook because I had to (I became a Mommy) and until then had never EVER liked being in the kitchen. I don't cook fancy food but I cook good hearty filling meals and I cook them well. I learned most things from my sister who's definitely a foodie. She loves to cook and went to school for it when she graduated high school. My son was a very very picky eater but when she moved in with us 2 yrs ago she got him to try so many new foods (how she did it I have no idea) and damn near every day he'd run up to me saying "Titi made fried steak, we have to make them!" or "Titi made the best meatballs, please make them for me!" The kid hated pasta and any meat except chicken before she moved in and now he eats whatever I cook for him (and I learned a LOT from her). I enjoy it now because he loves cooking too so we cook together every night and I make it fun for him.

3. Is there a special food, or type of food that would elect you president of its fan club?
Hell yes - baked ziti in all of its forms. I could eat baked ziti every night, matter of fact last week I had it three nights in a row due to the fresh meal on Wednesday, leftovers on Thursday, and then Friday night we ordered out so I got baked ziti from there as well. Yum.

4. What is the freakiest or most fun food fact about you?
I am weird when it comes to meat. I eat meat, I can cook it with no problem, but I can not touch raw meat - no way no how. If the blood gets on me or I feel it on my hands I will literally get nauseous and be sick. So, to remedy this I go to the supermarket once or twice a month to get a big supply of meats in the big family size packs and then my Mom (or my sister) will separate everything for me in meal sized portions, put it all in freezer bags and aluminum foil and this way I can just defrost and throw the meat in the pan when it comes time to cook without having to ever touch it. My son loves learning how to cook and isn't afraid to touch raw meat at all so he's the one in charge of making the ground beef into hamburger patties on hamburger night or rolling the meat for meatballs. He's a good little helper.
Also, I love anything that is raspberry flavored, but I hate actual raspberries.

5. Do you like to cook? Do you have a dish or dishes you consider your specialties?
I like to cook when I know I'm going to make someone else happy with the meal. If it's my son's favorite dinner I love how happy he gets and keeps saying how I'm such a good cook and how yummy it is or if I'm dating someone I love cooking for him and making him a nice big home cooked meal with a homemade dessert. I've always been a great baker but nowadays I enjoy cooking an entire meal instead of just the cake at the end. However, if my son is having a Kid Cuisine for dinner that night I'll usually just have a frozen pizza or Stouffer's. I never cook a meal from scratch if it's just for me.
Specialty would have to be baked ziti since I make it so much, or what me and my son call "slop" - we fry boneless chicken cubes with Sazon seasoning, and throw it in a big bowl with yellow corn, yellow rice and small sliced potatoes cooked in a bit of butter and Sazon. It's so so good.

6. Do you think more about food or sex? (this might help with the "are you a foodie" question, above)
I'm single so it has to be an equal amount of both haha. If I'm dating someone, for sure it is one more than the other! That's as far as I'm going with this one.

25, England. A lifelong lover of food but obsessions can grow when you get to know it better. I love food and sex, and getting plenty of both in quick succession is best. I like cooking, cooking for people, and I like eating food anyone else has cooked, and sharing food, so long as it's all good. I love chocolate and desserts most but also savoury dishes, fruits, vegetables, meat, and anything else. I also enjoy excesses of music, weed, thinking, and awesome animals.

HI there, I posted in the forum, BEFORE introducing myself - so hi all and great to be here

1. Please tell us a little about yourself. Age, locale, work, family, whatever you'd like to share.

My name is K and I'm 36 (37 in a minute or two), I live in Sydney Australia, am single as of about 6 months ago. I currently live alone for the first time in years and selfishly LOVE it. I play piano, guitar, cello and work in the non-profit sector. Love the arts. My "nutty" hobby is astrology which I have studied for about 10 years now.

2. Tell us a bit about your relationship with food. Are you a 'foodie' and, if so, what do you think makes you a foodie?

I reckon I'm a bit of a foodie - spent my childhood on "diets", didn't eat for a while as a young woman. Thing is I have always loved food and totally dig cooking. I refuse to use a microwave.

I really am into GOOD food as in love cooking from scratch, growing my own herbs/veg where possible and personally over-processed food just doesn't do it for me. I do not believe in margarine or skim milk (no offence to anyone else intended). Love French cooking, Greek food, and baking . Have a wheat intolerance thingy going on which really annoys me - so try to avoid wheat where I can but will totally crumble for some good home made butter pastry or a lovely french dessert.

3. Is there a special food, or type of food that would elect you president of its fan club?

Several. Good dark chocolate. Wild Salmon. Rocket (as in the green bitter leaf), love it. Extra virgin olive oil. Good cheese. Good wine.

4. What is the freakiest or most fun food fact about you?

I once spent an entire day in Zurich, Switzerland looking for the Lindt chocolate factory. And I got completely lost and NEVER found it. I compensated by going to a local supermarket and finding dark lindt chocolate wih a cointreau centre and buying LOTS.

5. Do you like to cook? Do you have a dish or dishes you consider your specialties?

Love to cook.

Whole baked trout with shallots, ginger and white wine
Tiramisu
Roast Lamb with garlic and mint
Thai food
Clarfoute (a french dessert involving berries/cherries or fruit and a light pancake batter thing)

6. Do you think more about food or sex? (this might help with the "are you a foodie" question, above)

Hmmmmm......probably sex.

Please tell us a little about yourself.
I'm Laura, I'm from the PacNW - currently dwelling in a hovel in Portland. I'm a Systems Analyst for a major insurance company. I do amateur photography and write fiction/screenplays in my spare time.

Tell us a bit about your relationship with food. Are you a 'foodie' and, if so, what do you think makes you a foodie?
I am a foodie. I love food. I consider food to be entertainment, so while a lot of people hit the movies every week I take that money and spend it on food, trying new things and trying to expand what my mouth knows as tasty.

Is there a special food, or type of food that would elect you president of its fan club?
Cheese. How I love cheese. There are very few varieties of cheese I don't like, they all have their proper place. I love looking at cheese, I love tasting cheese, I love pairing cheese with the proper cracker.

What are the freakiest or most fun food facts about you?
I have set soup on fire. Yes that's right, soup.

Do you like to cook?

I don't particularly enjoy cooking. For a few reasons. My kitchen isn't really built for it and I'm typically exhausted after work. Also I am a klutz in the kitchen (see above soup-fire for example), but I suppose the biggest reason I don't really like to cook is the leftovers. When you're cooking for one you usually end up with leftovers. I despise leftovers. They are my nemesis. They *never* get eaten, unless I can finish them off that night. Which leads into the fact that I despise cleaning my fridge. So the two of them playing together don't exactly create an incentive for me to cook. I can bake like the dickens though.

Cooking Specialties
Cheesy Deliciousness Bread of Bedazzlery
Toast
Scrambled eggs
Deviled eggs
Frozen pizza
Heating stuff

Baking Specialties
Cookies (Sanbakkels - traditional Norwegian molded cookie, Teacakes and Sandwich Cookies are my best)
Pies
Truffles
Brownies
Tarts

Do you think more about food or sex?
Sex.

2. Tell us a bit about your relationship with food. Are you a 'foodie' and, if so, what do you think makes you a foodie?

Definitely a foodie! I love food! I love to cook. My favorite thing to do is go out to eat.

3. Is there a special food, or type of food that would elect you president of its fan club?

CUPCAKES!

4. What is the freakiest or most fun food fact about you?

If PETA knew all the different kinds of animals I have eaten they would probably put me in jail. Hey I love animals, but they do taste great.

5. Do you like to cook? Do you have a dish or dishes you consider your specialties?

I LOVE TO COOK! I can cook pretty much anything I set my mind to. I have spent several years perfecting chipotle injected friend chicken. It is...to die for. I am also very adept at many asian cooking techniques since my elder brother trained in Japan as a chef and taught me a lot.

6. Do you think more about food or sex? (this might help with the "are you a foodie" question, above)

Definitely think more about food! I am quite the nympho though and sex IS a close second!

Hiya, should have done this ages ago -

Please tell us a little about yourself. Age, locale, work, family, whatever you'd like to share.

I am 41 and live in Sydney, all the way over in Australia. Animal lover (not a vegetarian), was married but now foot loose and fancy free.

Tell us a bit about your relationship with food. Are you a 'foodie' and, if so, what do you think makes you a foodie?

I definitely have a relationship with food. I love to look at food, smell it and eat it. Not a bad cook either (if the mood is right).

Is there a special food, or type of food that would elect you president of its fan club?

Yep, Chocolate

What is the freakiest or most fun food fact about you?

Not freaky or fun, but I like to take my time when I eat, savour every mouthful. I don't like to rush when I eat at all.

Do you like to cook? Do you have a dish or dishes you consider your specialties?

Yes, I like to cook...I love experimenting with recipes. My specialties would probably be Spaghetti Carbonara, and Beef in Red Wine Sauce.

Do you think more about food or sex? (this might help with the "are you a foodie" question, above)

Hmmm, I think about both equally.

Please tell us a little about yourself.
I'm the old geezer at work (the military) at the ripe old age of 40. I'm stationed in Southern Maryland, otherwise known as somd by the locals. I have two children, 16 and 20, who call me when they want something; they live with their mother.

Tell us a bit about your relationship with food. Are you a foodie, and if so, what do you think makes you a foodie?
The kitchen is probably the most important room in the home, in my opinion. It is the scene of the crime when I get started on a project, whether it's a new recipe or a return to the indulgence of which I have fond memories. I'm fairly specific; I eat things I need to eat, but the rest is my obsession.

Is there a special food or type of food that would elect you president of its fan club?Something baked, something in a meaty, rich, thick and spicy marinara, something sweet, probably choclate...oops; those are illicit affairs. My true love is espresso, who sticks by me through all my transgressions.

What is the freakiest or most fun food fact about you?
I know in my heart that greed, lust and hedonism are the most important parts of my relationship with food, despite the drained and used feeling after eating foods better left alone.

Do you like to cook? Do you have a dish or dishes you consider your specialties?
I like to cook; I can have it my way down to the last detail that way. I love to bake desserts; I've been known to make unusual cheesecakes at times.

Do you think more about food or sex?
With my relationship with food, is there really a difference?

Please tell us a little about yourself.
I'm 28, I live in the UK. I'm married with a cat and a dog (not keen on children unless they are deep fried). I'm a house-wife doing occasional contract work.

Tell us a bit about your relationship with food.
I have a really mixed relationship with food. I've been Bulimic since my very early teens and was in Anorexia rehab for a few months when I was 18. I'm still in counselling for my eating disorders but no longer a practicing Bulimic. Oddly enough my therapist thinks that my eating disorders are more about my ultimate obsession with food. I love food, I love to eat, I love to cook, I love to feed others. I'm a foodaholic but I'm also a food snob - I guess those things make me a foodie!

Is there a special food, or type of food that would elect you president of its fan club? I know this is dreadful... but it has to be mashed potato.

What is the freakiest or most fun food fact about you?
I would prefer to starve than eat food I don't like. If I'm going to eat it I'm going to damn well enjoy it.

Do you like to cook? Do you have a dish or dishes you consider your specialties? Chilli is probably my speciality, though my husband would say fish dishes - he's the meat fiend in our relationship.

Do you think more about food or sex? (this might help with the "are you a foodie" question, above). Both, mainly at the same time.

Please tell us a little about yourself.

I'm Odette, 22 and from Amersfoort, Holland. I've been a member of this board for three years but have not been very active until now, I am ready to change that I currently work part-time as a horse groom and am studying to become a Reiki-Master.

Tell us a bit about your relationship with food. Are you a 'foodie' and, if so, what do you think makes you a foodie?

I've been raised in a family that was all about food, my mother loved to cook and my father loved to eat. So I've been seeing restaurants from the inside on a monthly basis sinds I was a baby and have a fair deal of knowledge about them. I've been reading cookbooks from seven years of age and have been on cooking school for a year. Right now I am writing restaurant reviews in my spare time and am working on my own cookbook. So I dare to say I am a real foodee, yes!

Is there a special food, or type of food that would elect you president of its fan club?

I think Indonesian food, Curry's, Pizza's and Steaks can reckon me their biggest fan, yes

What is the freakiest or most fun food fact about you?

I've been invited to help the cook in a three star restaurant when I was only 7, because I was so passionate about food.

Do you like to cook? Do you have a dish or dishes you consider your specialties?

I love to cook, and I am writing my own cookbook because of it. I would consider asian cuisine to be my specialty, though I am very good at anything with potatoes too

Do you think more about food or sex? (this might help with the "are you a foodie" question, above

I definitely think more about food than sex, because I need more of it and it's available to me daily, which sex isnt

Default Hey there

1. 25, Male, Sunnyvale, and I work in IT Tech
2. My relationship with food has been okay. I have wanted to enjoy food to change my saying from 'Eat to live' to 'Live to eat'.
3. I want all kinds of foods. I want fattening foods, tasty foods, fried foods.. I want it all!
4. I have been trying to suppress this feeling of being fat for too long.. I want to change that. I want to be fat and a true glutton!
5. I don't really cook, though I would like to learn to cook! Will you teach me how?
6. I think about food AND sex, though I would like to combine the two pleasures at the same time... What else could be better?

Well, I hope this answers some questions about me!

1.Please tell us a little about yourself. Age, locale, work, family, whatever you'd like to share.

35. I live in Minnesota. Have a boring day job. I live alone.

2.Tell us a bit about your relationship with food. Are you a 'foodie' and, if so, what do you think makes you a foodie?

I think I am a foodie. I live for flavor.

3.Is there a special food, or type of food that would elect you president of its fan club?

I don't think so. I do really like sushi and dark chocolate, and very good red wine. Those are my favorite foods on earth. Also I <3 good cappucino (sp?).

4.What is the freakiest or most fun food fact about you?

I started cooking from Julia Child's cookbook last year when the movie Julie and Julia came out. I've gone to Joy of Cooking since (got tired of French food).

5.Do you like to cook? Do you have a dish or dishes you consider your specialties?

I found out that I really, really like to cook. I'm very exacting when following a recipe for measurements of ingredients, but I also like to be creative in the kitchen and experiment.

I think my favorite dish from Julia Child is Ratatouille. I also loved Coq au Vin and Bouef Bourginon. The French Onion soup, gratineed with cheese, is super good also. Really anything of Julia's is bound to be good, even the veggies, because of the butter. Do not skimp on the butter.

6.Do you think more about food or sex? (this might help with the "are you a foodie" question, above)

Food. Definitely.

Please tell us a little about yourself.
Iím 44 and live in Minnesota. I have a nephew who I adore. Iím pretty casual and like too many things to list, but near the top would be Birkenstocks, blueberries, my down comforter, romantic comedies, twilight (not the book), really intelligent men (itís just very sexy) and Spring.

Tell us a bit about your relationship with food. Are you a 'foodie' and, if so, what do you think makes you a foodie?

Oh, yes. Definitely. There is so much pleasure in food, and I come from a family that includes a few amateur and professions foodies. My great grandmother managed the kitchen at a local yacht club decades ago, and my mom did preliminary judging for the Pillsbury bake-off when I was young. Seeing Julie & Julia brought back so many memories of my childhood, including family dinners where someone would eventually get around to talking about the latest episode of one of her cooking shows and which words had been mispronounced.

Is there a special food, or type of food that would elect you president of its fan club? Seafood and chocolate are two of my biggest weaknesses. I also love garlic. The aroma of garlic sautťing in butter is almost better than the flavor. Almost. I donít know if I could ever give up eating lamb once in a while, and the scent of brownies, just out of the oven, still makes me nearly moan every time.

What is the freakiest or most fun food fact about you?

I secretly love food I can eat with my fingers. Iím kind of a purist in that way. I also remember some of my Ďfood firstsí like my first bite of Belgian chocolate when I was 8 or 9.

Do you like to cook?
I like to eat more than I like to cook, I think. I didnít really begin cooking much until I was in my late 20s, for various reasons. I do enjoy it when I feel inspired or have enough time so that the process is creative and relaxed. But letís be honest, there is no such thing as a 20-minute meal unless itís an omelet and a salad. I favor easy food prep. like roasting a chicken or saffron rice and garlic shrimp. My cooking is often a little experimental, and I tend to change recipes to make them more my own. I think of it more like playing with my food than cooking.

Do you have a dish or dishes you consider your specialties?
I make great potato salad and spanakopita. I do baklava for my family at Christmas, and have discovered a few tricks to making really good chicken gravy.

Do you think more about food or sex? (this might help with the "are you a foodie" question, above)
I think itís unfair to ask me to choose between the two.

1. My name is Angela, I'm 25 years old, I graduated from culinary school in 2009, I currently work and reside in a small resort town on Lake Erie.

2. I have always had a passion for cooking, as a kid I loved helping my mom in the kitchen, and from a young age I've loved foods from all over the world (I'm primarily Egyptian and Italian on my mother's side of the family)

3 . Lasagna. People hate to admit that I make it better than their mothers, haha

4. I have an obsession with cupcakes, I love baking/decorating them, I like developing my own recipes -- I had one tattooed on my arm... haha

5. I love to cook! I do it every day at work (: my specialties are definitely lasagna, potato pancakes, potato leek soup, chicken parmesan, risotto

6. Food! but that might be because I'm surrounded by it at work on a near daily basis! (I love discovering new flavour combinations and playing with ingredients while I'm cooking, so food is on my mind quite often).
