Default Meijer Department Stores To Eliminate Separate Plus Size Women's Clothing Department

Meijer is a regional chain of big box / department stores in the United States midwest. They have stores in Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and Kentucky. It has a similar concept to WalMart stores, but Meijer focuses more on quality and less on price than WalMart does.

The big news here is, Meijer will eliminate their plus size women's department, combining all sizes they carry into a single clothing department offering sizes from S to 3XL. In addition to that, they will eliminate the price premium on plus size clothing, so every item is at the same price point regardless of size. Revolutionary, isn't it?

Cool! I hope it works out well for them.

They tested the idea in one market before deciding to implement it company wide. It must have been a big success for them to go all in.

Sounds like a good idea. Hopefully it will be a big improvement over the usual tiny plus size department hidden in some underutilized corner.

Wow, that means that every style/fashion will be in every size. Pretty amazing.

Maybe they finally figured out that most people don't fall in the 0-12 sizes. I bet they did make a bunch of money. Good for them.
