I sincerely hope we can maybe transfer the discussion culture we have on the BHM/FFA-board - I mean we've controversially discussed the importance of religion there and still can post each other eye-to-eye afterwards... - onto the more general political debate in Dims.

It is possible to have civil, provocative discussion with some of the same posters here. In my FB group, we had a discussion about spirituality and religion that was excellent. No name calling, no nastiness, no arguing. Just good quality discussion with questions posed and responded to without any snark or venom. It was rather refreshing.

Quit whining about what others can do somewhere else and how unfair it is. You sound like you're 3. FFS, you're free to post in that forum too if you like. Just follow the rules laid out and try to be less antagonistic. If you can do that you should be fine.

Back to the question at hand. It looks like the poll is in and there will be a new board, so what's the next step? A rules committee of sorts?

ETA: Changed some wording to be slightly more diplomatic.

Maybe you have to follow a response format; like you must acknowledge their point politely before stating your point, and every post should relate back to the main topic to prevent individual responses to posts that spin off uncontrollably. Ie you can address or rebut a point but you would have to loop your response back into the original point.

The next steps are going to be to set up a final poll for the name and to start a discussion thread about the rules the mod team have come up with so far and what people's thoughts/opinions/suggestions are.

These were supposed to go up today but upon talking to my fellow moderators we decided that starting these threads/polls on a monday would be a better idea so then it is at the start of a new week.

My brain was so fixated on doing everything on a seven day cycle that all updates would have been on a thursday if the mod team hadn't pointed out that monday is a better day for it!

I vote no because it only causes problems between people.
We are all different and probably couldn't agree on much anyway.
As a conservative I have my opinion and 99% of everybody else is liberal so no point in me hanging out in a political forum on this site.
