What: A private chat for Dim folk who are losing weight

When: Friday, October 6th, 8:30-10:00pm Eastern (5:30pm-7:00pm Pacific).

Where: Dimensions Chat Private Rooms

In a discussion in the Clubhouse recently, Conrad said that the private chat rooms can be used for gatherings on specific chat topics and that anyone can announce and host one. Since there’s been some interest lately in discussing weight loss, I’ve decided to host a chat on this topic.

Because this can be a controversial subject around here, some guidelines:
This chat is not a place to fat bash or whine about how much you hate your body. It’s not a place to promote any particular plan or program (such as Weight Watchers). It’s also not a place for those who are against weight loss, and I respectfully ask that you not participate if this is your position. It is meant to be a chat for those of us who are fat acceptant but are choosing to alter our bodies for health or other reasons. Folks who’ve had WLS are welcome to participate, but please understand this chat is meant to focus on non-surgical methods. My goal is to have us share ideas and experiences and hopefully learn from one another. I have arranged to have at least one chat op on call should we need them.

If you would like to be part of the chat, please PM me, mentioning why you want to participate, and I will send you the name of the private chat room we will be using. To join the chat, go to this link: http://chat.dimensionsmagazine.com/c.../login?mode=st. Select "Private Rooms" and sign on using your chat name. (If you don’t have one already, you’ll need to sign up.)

One note: The choice of topic for this private chat is entirely mine and not endorsed or un-endorsed by the management.

Thanks to the PM'ers who've sent word they want to join in. I'll start responding and giving out the password tomorrow.

One other thing I forgot to add above is that since it is a private chat, the agreement will be that what's discussed in the chat should remain private and not be repeated elsewhere.

I'm really pleased with the turnout. So far twelve folks are signed up to participate for at least some part of the chat with a couple of other maybes. See you all tomorrow night. And if anyone else wants to join in, feel free to shoot me a PM up until the time of the chat, though sooner would make things a little easier.

Edited to add: Counted wrong--make that 13.
