Heh, well I don't know that I'd call it a mortgage, because you pay for it all before you go. More like a layaway. For instance, I want to go on a cruise next October for my birthday - I'll be 40

and I can make the downpayment of $250 now, then another $200 or so in March, then another $200 in July, then I'm done.

I am pretty much restricted to Carnival because everyone else makes you pay 200% if you are cruising alone, and I don't like cruising THAT much.

There are BBW cruises too....

This cruise will be going to Cozumel - we get almost a full 24 hours there! Grand Cayman, and Jamaica!

Very nice! I assume you have a lot of flesh (like I do)? I suggest you cover up every single inch of it! But you probably already know that, having cruised before, eh?

Why? Are you talking about sunburn? Because I use sunblock....I don't cover every inch of my flesh, I'm busy doing things that need bathing suits...like SCUBA, swimming with dolphins, snorkeling, etc.

oh yeah--sorry. i dropped out a few words. I meant to say to slather every inch with sunblock. Not that I do it as much as I should, but one could really ruin a vacation by not using that stuff (and I have, once)

I'm actually super vain about my skin, so not to worry. I even get a Canadian friend to send me sunblock that has ingredients we cant' get here. Silly FDA.

Cozumel has some great diving. Jamaica's OK, it's gotten really tourist-y. I haven't been to the Caymans yet, but I've heard they're even better'n Cozumel :-D

Didn't the Caymans stop doing that a few years ago because they were sick of being associated with organized crime? I coulda sworn one of the major tax shelter banks caved and started reporting on their clients.

last year. The only problem I had is that I had to make sure they have a BCD that would accomodate me because I don't have my own. However...one of my favorite places on earth is this place: http://www.xcaret.com
and I usually do not get to be there at night because the cruise ships leave too early. There is a night show there that is supposed to be out of this world. They have snorkeling there, but not diving. ALSO there is a sunset snorkel thing that is supposed to be really neat. I feel like a Mayan princess whenever I'm at Xcaret, which is kinda funny because I am the whitest white girl ever. If I ever get married though, I want to get married there. Ugh...so many decisions.

In Jamaica I will probably climb Dunn's River Falls. There is also cave tubing, but I think I'd rather climb the falls.

In the Caymans..hrmm...I don't think I can resist swimming with stingrays to dive. So maybe no diving on this trip

But I am hoping that I can go again in October.
