.. those candidates whose stated positions will advantage your children, but VOTE!
If you find candidates that mostly support policies that will advantage the future, vote for them and get your friends to vote. In this nation, we do not determine policy by coups, strikes and street demonstrations--we make our will known at the ballot box. Want a health care system like Canada or Sweden? Find candidates that support that. Trust supply-side monetary policy? Find candidates that agree. Want the upper 50% of income-earners to pay more than the 90% of the income taxes? Look for candidates. Want abortion to be the last resort for the mother? There are folks out there that are running on that policy. One tragedy in the US is that so many rationalize away their franchise. They say no one candidate supports all my favorites policies so I am not going to vote. They say all politicians are crooks arnd perverts so I am not going to vote. I guarantee that non-voters will get policies they despise and crooks and perverts, because they do not take the trouble to inform themselves and vote. You all know how I come down on issues. If you agree with me--vote. If you hate my positions, but don't vote then I am the unblocked man that will elect a government you despise. Don't make me beg! VOTE! Regards, Ted |

Don't worry. I know who I am voting for. This will be the first election in which I will have any influence. Unfortunately, I was only 17 when Bush was up for his second election. But I will vote for representatives who support my views and will bring them to bear when this administration tries to strip away some right that I cherish.

I'm forcing my parents to vote - and this'll be the first midterm they've voted in for, like, forever...
'cause we're in PA. And we've had ENOUGH of Santorum. >.< This is just the end of his first term, but one term is too much. Grr. =Divals

I already voted, by absentee ballot: Democratic, Libertarian and Green.
I found some of the issues up for election to be interesting, and as full of subterfuge as usual. Voting is like writing fiction for me: and enjoyable slice of hell (IOW, fun and a pain in the ass both at the same time), if that makes any sense.

I'm just happy that I'll be having the chance to vote our governor out of office. Even if the Republican wins (and I hope she doesn't because I know the Democratic candidate and I like him much better) at least it won't be Murkowski.
He never shoulda bought that jet. I told him, but did he listen to me? Nope. ![]() |

![]() Oh and I forgot to mention that we have the chance to vote Don -- The Pork Man -- Young out of office, too. I don't think it'll happen because Alaskans love their pork, but at least there's a chance. |

In California, Pauly will cast the following votes:
Gubernatorial: Governor Arnold Schwarzaneggar over Phil Angelides US Senate: Richard Mountjoy over Senator Dianne Feinstein 18th Congressional District: John Kanno over incumbent Dennis Cardoza According to the polls, I'm going to win the Gubernatorial race, but am facing blowouts in the latter two. |

Kicking myself in the ass for not registering to vote in time ( I missed the deadline.)
Otherwise, I would have given my vote to Grandma or the Kinkster for TX governor.

I've never voted a straight party ticket before, but I'm afraid that I'll have to this time. I just can't trust the ethics or decency of anyone who still chooses to associate with the current regime in any way and I'm not willing to vote for a splinter candidate when that could cause a Republican to win by default.

I like the looks of a Socialist contender for Senate here...but he only says he has xyz beliefs...no corresponding "here's how I will implement xyz beliefs." He believes in all of the things I do...but he doesn't say what he'll do about it. His heart's in the right place, but I cannot risk (in this climate) splintering.
....whereas, the Democratic contender for Senate has similar xyz beliefs *and* initiatives to get them into practice. For instance, implementing a comprehensive sexual education program modeled around that of a South Carolina county that reduced its teenage pregnancies by 2/3 over the 20 years they had (and researchers studied/researched/kept an eye on) the program.
