shrimp ramen boiled super soft with a touch of cayenne Tony's frozen pizza, cooked just so it's warm and the cheese is melty, not browned. my mom's Thai peanut noodles ETA: I totally forgot Lipton's fetticini alfredo pasta mix! Comfort snacks: kettle chips cheesecake And I'll take regular Dr. Pepper for a drink.

Violet, welcome to the boards!
We've had a couple of comfort food threads, but there are new folks to contribute to the topic and it's a good time of year to be thinking about (and eating!) comfort foods. Here are a couple of links if you want to see the older threads: What is your ultimate comfort meal? Another Comfort Food Thread

Usually it is biscuits and gravy, but right now, I would vote for huge buttermilk pancakes, lots of butter, lots of syrup, sausage and eggs over easy.

Ice cream, hands down.
One summer, after an unexpected and very difficult breakup with a longtime boyfriend, ice cream was the only thing that didn't make me want to throw up. Alas, I didn't do what most women do and take this as a "positive" and run with it into weight loss and subsequent throwing of my new body into said ex's face. Instead I ended up gaining about 50 lbs. <shrugs> Maybe, with him being an FA, that *was* the fat girl equivalent of an f-you diet. ![]()

Depends, if I am sick and feeling icky, it is 7up and chicken noodle soup with the little noodles (the soup that comes in the packet). Sometimes when I am feeling really icky, a nice big pepperoni pizza with extra cheese and extra sauce will do it.
If I am feeling just eh, then a bag of nacho cheese doritos and a block of chream cheese will do the trick ![]()

It would have to be food/drinks I don't mind having in stock, but not necessarily comfort, but hearing them makes me happy :P.
Chinese food and Coke are those two. Also Entemann's chocolate frosted donuts or Dunkin Donut's chocolate donuts . Baked Lays are also good to have around.

chocolate pudding, the kind that you cook on the stove, my mother always made it for us, I think the brand was called My-T-Fine or something like that but I remember her standing by the stove constantly stirring and when I got a little older, she let me do it. Now I nuke it because I'm lazy but it still tastes the same to me......

Ooooo.......My-T-Fine, yes!
I don't think I've had that in about 35 years. After a certain year my mom stopped STIRRING all instant stuff, or at least would only stir it partially and would freak if I or my sisters tried to intervene. So things like pudding and instant potatoes would all have bursts of um, dry powder. (RIP, Mom.)

No doubt about it. Lasagna!
The many layers encapsulate life itself: sometimes savory, sometimes saucy, sometimes cheesy, but always chock full of rich fulfillment. |
