Well after bribing the extreme right wing Family First senator Steve Fieldings (for a tougher stance on abortion by the government) the VSU bill was passes. It is the end for the student body, the end of the universities and the end of civilisation as we know it. It is indeed the end of everything decent and good, the very end of the nation as a member of the first world. Gone is all that revenue that cumpulsory payments brought, gone the services, gone the support, gone our very way of life. Damn you Howard, and as for Brenden Neilson, I hope you burn in hell along with all your cohorts.

Howard and his legions of cohorts are more than "conservative", they want to try and turn back the clock to a time when Menzies would have been proud. Its cowardly, undemocratic and a stab in the back of the Student movement. Now normally I dont get worked up about an issue, but this is really the thin end of the wedge, a solution that Neilson wants to destroy the universites for good and turn Australia back into the dark ages.

*VSU - Voluntry Student Unionism. It's basically the whole funded services v user pays kind of argument. With these changes students who can't afford it won't get the same opportunities with conselling, sports facilities, clubs, and so on, and so on.
