Today, I purchased one of those large, heart-shaped and iced cookie cakes from Mrs. Fields for only 13 dollars. The flavor was chocolate chip cookie batter with pink and red icing. Normally these cookie cakes are 26 dollars and up. 13 dollars was definitely a good deal.

Anyone who knows me knows I am an absolute freak for baked goods with butter cream icing. The stuff might as well be crack for me.

I have a very, very limited amount of will power. I deliberately stay away from 1/2 price candy sales. I don't need the sugar or the useless calories - plus I am a borderline diabetic. Don't get me wrong - I love chocolate as much as the next guy or girl, I just can't resist it when a big bag is in the house.

I ration my candy buying to a bar or two a week or a few cookies a day. Once in a blue moon (once a year) I let myself drink a real coke or something that has too much sugar in it. I have already just about blown my pancreas out when I was younger & need to take it easy on the old girl from now on.
