Default Does this apply to you?

I found the following great quote:

Quote:
I hope in your entire life, you never need the courage that I need just every day to get up and get out the door.
at http://www.fatshadow.com/February2006.htm#e1203

Do you think this applies to you? Why or why not?

I'm still deciding.

Honestly, I don't feel like that quote applies to me. I don't know if it is stupidity or just a general aloofness I have about life, but I don't really think about being fat. And when I do, it is usually not what people are thinking about me. I am big. I take up a lot of space. I smile at most people I pass in the hall, on the elevator, in the store. If the fact that I am a lot more round is the worst thing they can say about me, then I don't really care.

I think the only time I ever worry is walking into a social situation where I don't know the seating availability. I have had one very embarrassing situation in a theatre that has made me a little wary. I am more wide than deep and that pops up when I am thinking about going new places.

I do understand that it is hard for some people, but I have so many other things to worry about, I have accepted that someone may look or not like me and that is ok with me.

I don't think it applies to me either, because I really don't spend time dwelling on my body, but if I did, it could.

It used to. I'm tougher now. Or more oblivious. Or something.

I can't say it applies to me. I think I am just not all with it some of the times.

I think those words apply to everyone I've ever met. Everyone has felt it?

Smile Wow...

What an amazing quote!

Sometimes I need a hell of a lot of courage to get up but quite often actually getting up and going gives me the courage.

I think I'm a naturally nervous suspicious person...

It doesn't apply to me.

I just get on with life and do what I have to do and hope that once my obligations are met, there is enough free time and energy to do what I want to do for my own enjoyment. I don't really spend much time analyzing things. I used to. Not anymore though.

As far as that quote being related to weight? I honestly never even *think* about it until it is brought to my attention by something external. And then, it really doesn't dwell on my mind. Of all the things I am, the number on the scale is very low on the list.

There are a lot of things I could hide away from the world over, weight being one of the very least of them.

My personal philosophy leans towards: "Whatever is, is." And once I've come to terms with that fact, I either take steps to change things, or just accept them and get on with it.

But I can at least appreciate the sentiment behind it. Even if I don't think it applies to me.
