I found this article while browsing MSN at lunch...
http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com...HR.aspx?page=1 Make sure to take note of the last few lines on the second page... grrr, as if all fat people gorge on junkfood. I absolutely hate the assumption that fat = unhealthy. If this is a war we have to fight back with knowledge and the truth; that you can be healthy at any size and that we should love ourselves for how we are and not how society wants us to be. P.S. Don't get me wrong, eating healthy is great and its very cool that they are making healthy alternatives available but the tone of the piece is simply offensive and that's why I wanted to share it. Shall I bring my dueling pistols, or my sword?
What the hell, I'll take both, and some snacks for the road. |

I hope this isn't a re-post, but I don't think I've seen it already. if it is... sorry. More evidence of the war: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/...st/7506909.stm

It is a marketing campaign to sell more useless and dangerous diet products. And/or a way to scapegoat fat people to deflect attention away from the mess the corporate leaders got us into!

Skinny people with a genetically high motabolism can still eat nothing but junk and not gain any weight.
A healthy person who just likes food, (which is just as natual as liking sex) and eats more healthy food then the energy they put out each day will get fat. So who do you think will die of a blood clot first? The skinny one. People just can't see it from across the room. This is just more racist stereotyping, it makes me sick |

Instead of focusing on what people eat, which is ridiculous, these companies could offer cash to people who do 20 minute tai-chi breaks late in the afternoon. That I'd do cause I'd get paid to learn tai-chi. I've actually tried to institute a 2-minute dance break (everybody shimmy and vogue) around 4 o'clock when everybody is the most lethargic and bored. It helped me wake up when giant cups of coffee didn't. It worked until everybody got sick of hearing songs from Confessions on a Dance Floor by Madonna, which took about a week.

Regarding most of the articles used-words and statements (especially those last few lines), I have two words: Fucking pathetic.

Maybe they could just offer a DECENT sized lunch break, instead of forcing employees to stick with whatever will survive several hours of storage at room temperature or whatever they can grab out of the vending machines or microwave within the 15 minutes they have to cram said item into their face before getting docked pay for lack of productivity? >_<
