Any ideas for Halloween costumes this year? I was considering being either a jockey or possibly a Hobbit (my feet are big enough). Only joking!
![]() Last year I was a gladiator (wow, did people get a charge out of that at parties! ) and the year before I think I was a pirate wench. One of the costume shops which sprung up around here has a section of plus-size costumes, but the choices are limited to nun, doctor, convict, gangster and wicked witch. Maybe I should just be a gladiator again. That was a lot of fun. |

I know it's a little late, considering when the movies came out, but my husband and I always think dressing up as Shrek and Fiona would be a blast. We're both kind of built for the parts.
We also have Renaissance costumes. When we went to the MN Renaissance Festival this year, people said we looked like Robin Hood and Maid Marion. |

My nickname at work is "Princess". So I am always a fairy princess. Long purple sparkly dress, purple wings from Torrid, silver shoes, wand, tiara from Ebay. What do you want to be? It's the day you can dress up as anything you want

Last year I went as a Harry Potter charachter, wand, robes (made by my own fair hand) and all ^_^ This year we're on holiday for Halloween, so I'll probably get something over there. Planning to take a first trip to torrid actually, I'll have to have a peek in there ^_^

I had the grand ambition of coming up with a different costume for each of the 4 Halloween parties I've been invited to this year.
So far, I've attended one, and I copped out and wore my renaissance faire costume with a masquerade mask and a bunch of feathers in my hair. The second party is supposed to be a Harry Potter themed party this weekend, but the hostess has yet to send out the evites. So, who knows if it's actually happening or not. If so, then I will probably come up with something using my witches' hat I had from my costume 2 years ago. The third party is taking place after-hours at the renaissance faire, so I can wear my wench costume all day, and then throw on a pair of fairy wings and colorful yarn hair falls and an excess of glittery makeup and be a fairy. The fourth party is taking place at a local gothic-darkwave music club, and I already have a costume for it. Black dress, spiderweb patterned glittery masquerade mask, spider necklace, and spiderweb "lace" fabric as a shawl. I decided to slack off this year and work more with what I already have in my closet instead of trying to make or buy a complete costume. Tracy |

I've always wanted to be a tube of toothpaste. I don't know why. I just never have had the ambition to figure out how to make it. Besides I would be the tube that was squeezed in weird places - ya know?

I did this last year: I wrote words like id, ego, super-ego, penis envy, oral stage, anal stage, phallic stage, etc. on square pieces of fabric with fabric marker and sewed them onto a black lacy slip = Freudian Slip.
You could probably use marker on duct tape for an even quicker version. I love Halloween!!!! ![]() |

I was the planet Jupiter one year; that was pretty fun, but it required a horrifying amount of paper mache and was difficult to maneuver through doors. Ditto the year I was a volcano.
Maybe a favourite historical figure? |

Back in the Late '70s when I was between marriages, I was bar-hopping in Madison, NJ - a college town. I walked into one bar and saw that virtually everyone inside was in costume. And I was wearing a light-colored suit that night.
Suddenly, I had an idea. I walked around the corner to a convenience store, and asked the clerk for a brown paper bag. I tore two eye holes and a mouth hole in it and went back in to the bar as The Unknown Comic. ![]() ![]()

Sandie, do you no longer sell any of the costumes? I always wanted a purple angel costume from you. I looked, but couldn't find any.

A friend and I had the best time one year as Bar Flies...any excuse to dress trashy
We had teased hair, LOTS of makeup, those little antenna things on our heads and cheapy wings and the shortest, most revealing clothes we could find in our closets. Fun and CHEAP. |

I gave up on Halloween when I realized I couldn't go as a nudist.

Gosh, you guys are all so creative! Kudos to each of you, especially Tracy with FOUR costume ideas already planned!!
I pretty much do the same thing, or a version of same, every year: either a witch, or a vampire lady. This year it's the vampire: long, black velvet and lace dress from Sanctuarie, velvet choker, and silver jewelry. I get a kick out of the looks on the kids' faces who come to my door: a mix of fear and "what the hell is this old lady supposed to be"? Next year I may switch back to witch, but I'll need to invest in a new hat: my old one finally bit the dust a couple years back.... |

We just weren't selling enough costumes to justify keeping them on the site. Inevitably I would get 20 emails the week before Halloween from people wanting the costumes...and I just couldn't accommodate them in that short of time. If you would e-mail me anytime before September 1 next year...I would be happy to make you up a purple angel costume. ![]()
