Default A futile fantasy: decent loungewear.

Or, as the Jewish folks say, "schmatahs."

I want lounging casualwear...funky, loose fitting, and not something my Aunt Sophie wore in 1969.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Sandie Sabo's links are always wonderful, but I have looked and looked and can't find anything. A long tee shirt. A tee shirt dress. A funky lounging piece with some flair, for entertaining...but not dressy. No gauze. No puffed sleeves out of Snow White. No polyester. Something flowy, not a-line. My fantasy dress is from BlueFish...(may they rest in peace). That is my ideal style...unusual cut, flowy, maybe even an empire cut, real cotton. The links are making me depressed. I wonder how these companies stay in business, honestly. Everything I saw is the same crap they've been selling for years and I was hoping there were some new companies out there who "got it." I am sure there are, but I can't find them

Any ideas would be welcome. Thx in advance.

Hmmm..not sure if this is what you had in mind...I am going to list these in my Etsy Boutique next week. Princess seamed chemise with shoulder tie straps made from soft cottony knit. Right now I have the short ones in stock but I make them in any length. I will offer them as maxi dreses shortly.

Did you want something more like a long caften?

Hi Ro,

Thank you for taking the time to respond. No, nothing like that.

I basically want a tee shirt dress that's very long, roomy and not A-line, if possible. But a big, roomy, yummy, cotton tee shirt dress that I can fit two people in, with loose sleeves. Does such a thing exist?

Ohhhhh.. ok, I got it!

I actually have a pattern for that, had it for years. Used to make big over size swimsuit coverups. I dont have any pics of it right now but you can PM me if you want to talk details. Thanks.

This pretty much describes the T-shirt nightie I bought at womanwithin.com. I'm normally a 5x/6x, but I wanted this roomy and bought the 7x/8x. Clearly two of me could wear this thing.. It's so freaking comfortable I wear it like a muumuu around the house. I can throw it in the dryer w/no worries about shrinkage.

This is nothing like what you described in your original post though, so I'm not exactly sure what you ultimately have in mind. Do you mean this kind of empire/t-shirt dress type thing? It's a poly/cotton blend though..

Other than the above, I can't picture an empire waist without an a-line skirt attached.

Hi TFG,

Kinda, sorta, but maybe a little more tee-shirt-ish, if that makes sense. that was helpful, very sweet and I appreciate the time you took to respond. Very much.

Is this what you're looking for? They're actually sleep chemises, but I wear them over leggings and don't look the least bit like pajama's.
