wls and the future of the fa/bbw community

hi there it seems alot of women iv known have started having weight loss surgery and it occurred to me, what will happen in a few years from now?
will wls be mandatory for the obese and paid for buy the government?
will ssbbws and ssbhms become a rarity?
it seems its already happening and
if this ever did come to fruition i hate to say it but id probably kill myself

First of all, the US government would never pay for all those surgeries. Not all insurance companies pay for them either. There will always be fat people. That kind of discrimination, while imaginable, is just not practical, and there would not be enough support in either the House or the Senate for that kind of goofy legislation because it would cost too much.

Whoa there, slow down boy! I don't think you have anything to worry about. "Mandatory WLS" is so not going to happen. Olwen's right about the government not paying for anything like this. Besides, WLS seems to not be effective for many people anyway, so even if there were some bizarre turn of government that did demand something like this, there'd still be fat people. Chill
