Hi,
I recently went to disney world in FL for the 1st time. I had tons of fun for sure not 1 look of disgust actually unless people were just quiet. I was wondering if anyone has gone to Disney and been disgraced or rudely spoken too or been treated wrongly? Im going again in Dec for my birthday. I think another reason I started this post is because Im single 31 and I love disney world ALOT and Im a kid at heart fun social butterfly. I enjoy life work hard and I have tattoos and 1 piercing. Im looking for friends and If one fella or woman and I become close than that would be so cool. I want to find some one in life with simularities. Please let me know what you think and what youve expenrienced. Thanx ![]() Last edited by Risible : 08-08-2009 at 09:39 PM. Reason: removed paysite info from signature |

Hi Jessie! I haven't been to Disney World in AGES, but I'm glad you had such a good experience - my dad lives in Florida, and I've been considering making a trip to Disney with him. It's good to know that the atmosphere was pleasant and fat-friendly!
Regarding the second part of your post, I'm pretty sure personals aren't allowed on the forums - another post was recently edited to remove one. Here is the 2009 Singles thread, which is a good place to start, and you might want to check out the Fat Sexuality and GLBTQ boards too ![]() |

I'm a former Disneyland attractions hostess, Disneyland annual passholder, and occasional Walt Disney World guest, and I've never found the company to be anything other than accommodating of size (with the occasional "small seat" exception when I was larger). Castmembers are expected to be courteous and helpful to everyone, so I wouldn't expect to encounter many rude employees. Actually, quite a few castmembers are BBWs/BHMs themselves, so if anything you will likely meet hosts who 'get it.'

I'd also put in a good word for Universal Studios Orlando, a couple years ago when we decided to skip Disney for a change. Universal were very accommodating of my size. I rented a scooter, and it turned out to be my favorite ride. I could enjoy all the attractions for several days without getting tired. One unforeseen but terrific fringe benefit of the scooter was I could use the special lanes to get into the front rows at shows, and there were little special parking areas when I wanted to go into stores and on some rides. My hubby Art happily tagged along and enjoyed those privileges too. Another fringe benefit was HE had trouble keeping up with ME for a change.
![]() I fit just fine in the rides that had bench-style seating. Some rides with belly bars and butt-bruising seats had mockups of the seats out front, and sure enough I didn't fit, but at least I could try them on for size (or lack of size) before I queued up. ![]() It also helped that we went during the off-season, September/October. The weather was fine and the parks were still pretty busy, but we rarely waited longer than 5 minutes for anything, so I didn't need to stand around for long. I'm okay if I walk, but just standing for any length of time hurts my back and legs. If there was a ride Art wanted to try but didn't interest me, I knew he wouldn't be gone long, so I simply parked and waited with my book. And the modest crowds meant I rarely felt squeezed or claustrophobic. ![]() One note about the weather: Autumn is part of hurricane season in Florida, but we enjoyed warm sunny skies, except for daily rain downpours between 5 and 6 PM like clockwork. We made sure to schedule an early dinner around that time so we were indoors. Except early one afternoon an "unscheduled" but brief cloudburst caught us by surprise and drenched us, so Art declared me the winner of the wet T-shirt contest. Smooth talker! ![]() PS. Oh, let's not forget the food! After a long day hauling my fine feminine fat around, a high-maintenance lady needs to maintain her well-rounded figure in the style to which she is accustomed. Mythos Restaurant at Universal's Islands of Adventure has been voted the restaurant inside a theme park for several years, and it well deserves its accolades. ![]() ![]() Emeril Lagasse has a very good restaurant at CityWalk, but his Tchoup Chop restaurant at the Royal Pacific Resort is fantastic. And there are plently of other dining options for every taste and price range. Last edited by TallFatSue : 08-09-2009 at 06:58 AM. |

we went to disney in 2008..and it was awesome. everyone was policte and friendly. and all the rides, attractions and area's were all size accomodating. well,, the only 1 I didnt ride was the old roller coaster near the kiddie area. you can also rent scooters if you feel inclined. It's so much walking..argh. I was nervous at first about going because I didnt want to hold everyone back and also not be able to do everything,...but it was an AwESOME trip

I love love LOVE Disney World! I've been 10 times.
I noticed you mentioned going on your birthday. Did you know you can get a free pass to one of the parks on your birthday? At least, I think you still can. You just have to register on the website. It's worth it to check it out, at least. I hope you have fun, and take lots of pictures! |

Seriously, Disney Parks are my favorite places in the world...I go yearly, I'm an SSBBW and fit on all the rides, and don't get the same looks and stares I do at home...I found the other theme parks to have less rides I could actually go on.
Discovery Cove in Florida is also amazing, and they loan out wet suits up to an 18xl...so yeah, if you can walk, you can swim with Dolphins, which I thought was pretty freaking awesome ![]() |
