I have looked everywhere, top shelves and bottom shelves to find wide width shoes and I can't find them. I REALLY don't want to buy them online because I have to try them on first since my foot is VERY hard to fit. I wear anywhere from a 9W or 9WW to 11W or 11WW it all depends on the shoe and the make of it.
Do any of you have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I don't know what sort of shoe you are looking for--I think that makes a world of difference!
On the cheaper end of things, up here Payless generally has quite a lot of their shoes in wider sizes. (We've tended to stop buying them for my wife because we didn't like the quality, but for a short term fix it might help?). If you don't mind the clunkiness, for a general walking, kicking around, doing stuff shoe, Doc Martens can be great. My wife has largely lived in them for years now (excellent comfort, great quality, and they are a good supportive shoe). But I admit that they are not stylish. If you need an 'running shoe' type of thing, try to find a store that carries Sauconny or New Balance. They both make things in a wide variety of widths. But again, that is casual, not dressy or stylish. For dressy/stylish, I've got nothing--my wife is the least shoe-interested woman I've ever met, so she doesn't go looking for that type much.

You might want to check out Zappos.com. They have a great selection of shoes and they have fantastic return policy.

Zappos has free shipping for delivery and if you are a VIP free shipping both ways. That makes it easy to "try on" shoes at home. I can recommend Ros Hommerson shoes. They come in W and WW and are stylish, well made and comfortable. I just got some SoftWalks as well.

There is a store in my area that carries nothing but wide width shoes. You may want to see if there is a place like that in your area. Payless sadly doesn't seem to carry WW widths, only a regular wide. Sometimes that fits, other times it's too tight...

Also keep an open mind about possibly buying a pair of men's shoes. Some of the men's shoes out there are pretty nice and generally they are made wider. I buy a men's 9 regular or wide. Many times I've gotten compliments on boots, loafers or sandals I was wearing that were bought in the men's department.

I would check out Kohl's. I bought a pair of casual/dressy shoes. They actually had wide widths. Who knew?!!

I can't say enough good things about mens sketchers. They are comfy, offer support and aren't like a million dollars. They also come in wide...and if you order a mens shoe (already wide) and a wide shoe....it's a big comfy shoe.
As far as dress shoes go, Im not sure....but I am sure if you google something like "drag queen shoes" something will come up. You know them boys got big feet and yet they all having stunning shoes!!! |
