Corset!!!

So i've decided to buy myself a corset because, well basically, it would make ME want to fuck me, so I reckon it's an investment.

NOW - what I'd love to know is if you ladies have bought one before, what issues have you encountered, good/bad fabric choices, etc.

I'm a broke student- so looking for cheap and cheerful. They must also ship to Australia.

Oh gosh, Bobbi - inexpensive is the real clinker when it comes to good corsets! However, if you're just looking for something pretty to wear as a fashion statement, you'll probably find something off-the-rack that will work for you.

I've been eyeing some of the steel-boned readymade corsets at hipsandcurves.com; they seem to be well-made and the prices are really nice compared to what you'd pay for an off-the-rack at Dark Garden and some of the other top corsetiers. No clue about the shipping, though.

As for customs...

Denise Nadine makes EXCELLENT corsetry at really great prices, everything fit specifically to you. She did my white victorian, and it fits better than ANY piece of clothing I have EVER worn! I paid $150, which is an absolute STEAL. You can choose from her current catalog of designs or commission a custom design, which costs extra. Not sure what Denise's current shipping policy involves, but her knowledge and skill is definitely worth the consideration.

They're not exactly cheap, but meschantes.com offers good value and sturdy custom construction. They run many specials through their ebay store (often customs or semi-customs). I'm pretty sure they ship anywhere, though I have no idea how that will affect the final cost.

My friend Jill commissioned an inexpensive, good-quality corset from a seamstress in Australia, but I can't remember her URL or business name. I'll have to ask her if the lady is still making corsets.

Melian and Gracie will probably have more suggestions for you!

I've seen some of the work that Gallery Serpentine have produced and thought it was pretty fabulous. Not sure how the prices might convert but they are online and have stores in Aus too...

I was JUST going to recommend them for you, esp since you are in Australia! I've got about 4 of her corsets and they are excellent.

My corset that I absolutely covet and still drool over when i see it is from our very own BeaBea. The quality is fantastic, the weight/strength is incredible and the fabric to die for. I was lucky and got one when she had some on clearance and it was worth every single penny.....especially when my bf is lacing me in and I get to turn around and see his face when he takes me in. Love it!
