This is a recipe for disaster. Inflation from high Commodities will drive everything you buy North..Meanwhile real wages remain flat..I do believe this economy will stop growing, and start to recede within the next few months..Interest rates on borrowed money is also increasing. Property taxes are sky high with no relief in sight, which will affect homeowners and renters...Healthcare costs keep rising at a fast pace.. All energy is priced to demand which is only going to increase. Why do I keep hearing the pundents telling everyone this is a great economy?? Is it?Can the average consumer handle this?

The perils of the freer market.
The federal reserve is raising interest rates to keep down inflation and slow down the economy. Wages are not increasing for any number of reasons. If you lower taxes, that only frees up more money and drives inflation higher and higher. Reduce consumer spending will slow it down as well. The worst economic sitution is stagflation, where by the economy is on the blink, but inflation is high, wages rising to fast, high interest rates, and low productivity is the worst. |

Well, I am sure there have been more convincing arguments for mass genocide, but at least its a novel one.

There are two economies...The Upper and Lower economies. The upper is characterized by stock markets, GNPs and productivity statistics. The lower by things like cost of living, disposable income, bankruptcies, and repossessions. The upper economy gets the headlines, and the lower gets the shaft. And they try to cover the shaft with flowers, just like a grave. Rosy bogus stats like unemployment figures that only count those actively collecting unemployment benefits, and ignoring those that the benefits have run out...or those that have had to take fractional wage jobs...or those who have just given up.
