Default Is Obama a failure as President?

Oh, my God!! I could have wrote this opinion piece. I agree with Fouad Ajami 100%. Just the other day I predicted Obama would be compared to President Johnson. Johnson with an unpopular war overseas and massive spending at home. It's where the phrase guns vs. butter started. Just like Obama, Johnson never wanted to be tied down in a foreign war, but to manage his “Great Society” program. (Wonder why Obama never came up with a name like New Deal or Great Society??) Is history going to repeat itself? Who is the Republican Ronald Reagan that will save the day?

He even calls Obama's economic stimulus a failure! Just what I have been saying.

Bye Bye Obama. You are destined to be an one term president.

Cool

As to the topic, and a play on words on some brainwashing done on America in 2008... Yes He Is.

Barack OBieber. http://exurbanleague.com/Home/tabid/...tes-image.aspx

Republicans, First Strike. Bring some Popcorn.

(Want Proof? Look around, ask for a job.. Look at the primaries, it has begun.. The "Hopey Changey" stuff is fading.) Those were the first two examples i could think of, since the spending failures benefit -some.- "For now." And Teachers. Dont forget them, they love Obama. Bought and paid for votes. Strategic chess, i see.)

So far he's done diddly squat but he's only been office 2 years, he's got 2 more years to accomplish something.

I wouldn't judge him for personality quite yet. Remember, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were slave owners, James Madison decided to go to war with England and the US not only got their ass kicked...the White House burned to the ground in the process, Warren Harding lost the white house china in a poker game, Richard Nixon was a crook, LBJ didn't pull out of Vietnam, Gerald Ford was the clumsiest man in America, JFK and Bill Clinton were getting head in the oval office, Millard Fillmore nearly got every immigrant illegal or legal kicked out of the country, Franklin Pierce did more to jump start the Civil War more than any other man at the time, George Bush Jr I don't even have to explain and Ulysses S Grant didn't have a clue what he was doing.

If you had to choose, would you rather have Obama's strategy on this issues turn out to be successful, or have them fail and he be replaced with a Republican?

He's really no different from the last three presidents before him. I thought I would like him. I thought he was actually going to give us hope, change, and socialism. It turns out that he's a greedy, careless capitalist, just like the rest of them. Or maybe, they were all following orders from someone else.

I think Bush wasn't in office long enough to see the long term effects of his policies. The economy was tanking while he was in office, but not like now. So Obama has to put plans in effect that wiL change things but...it'll take time to show promise. And of coarse, the next president will get credit if it works out. Or blamed if it doesn't. People want an instant answer but there isn't one. It takes TIME.

Kind of like 75 years ago when Frankie D was written to have brought the country out of the Great Depression that Herbert Hoover started.....nevermind the fact Hoover had nothing to do with the stock market crash and he worked his ass off trying to clean up the mess. By the time Roosevelt was elected the country was already trying to make a comeback.

Then again, Bush had a lot more to do with the current Depression and Obama is more or less having to be Hoover rather than Frankie D.

I'm not sure I'd give Hoover a free pass. Nearly every decision he made was a bad one.

As far as Obama I think he's off to a bad start but two years to turn things around.

So far he's done... ok. Not great, but not a miserable failure like Bush either. He started off his presidency on the wrong foot trying to work with Republicans who had no desire for cooperation or bipartisanship, and is still trying to recover from that mistake. But he is trying, and things have gotten somewhat better under him. I certainly don't regret my vote, though we could probably have chosen someone better.

For the good of the country, I wish that I had been wrong. I wish people were rubbing it in my face. For that to have happened unemployment would be 7% and falling fast. Government tax revenues would be growing monthly and the stimulus would be almost paid off. The Government would be projecting surpluses for years to come.

People would be debating which of his foreign policy successes are worthy of his Nobel prize? Leaders of the world would be lined up and waiting to talk with Obama. The UK and Israel would be honored to be call the best friends of the US.

Yet, that is not the world we live in. Unemployment remains at 9.6 % or so and shows no sign of improvement. The government is going deeper into debt and the presidents own debt reduction commission says drastic measures maybe required. (most people think that means higher taxes for everyone after the 2010 elections)

The president's supporters no longer talk about his Nobel prize. They have no foreign policy successes to pin it on. The leaders of the UK and Israel no longer feel they have a “special” relationship with the US. In fact all they feel is a cold wind that is getting colder.

Yes, I think Obama is a failure. He is a man way over his head. A new president could be sworn in on January 20,2013. I can't wait.

Uh, Capitalist? No, Corporatist. They are only superficially similar (just as Corporatism is superficially similar to Socialism). Capitalist Obama ain't, nor were any of his predecessors going back more than half a century. And he most certainly is getting his walking orders from somewhere, namely Goldman-Sachs.

Is Obama's economic plan including his stimulus plan working?

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010...ations-rise-k/

The numbers come from the Labor Department as reported by Fox.

Is this why Christina Romer quit. She is the scapegoat for Obama's economic failure?

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010...omic-strategy/

The 2010 elections are soon. Do you know who your Congressperson is? Did they vote for the Stimulus Law?

Why???? Fox News is a legitimate news source. The older, mostly liberal, news sources are losing market share. This means the public is better served by Fox than any other news source. Only people with a blind devotion to Obama and/or a hatred of all things conservative or Republican can't see that.

The President's economic plan is failing and two of it's authors leave? Sounds like scapegoating to me.
