Pandas?

I noticed lately that a LOT of people have Pandas as their avatars...Am I missing something or an event or what?

Too many pandas for a coincidence!

I've recently heard 2 interesting things about Pandas.

They have a lot of trouble having any kind of sex. Zoos have taken to showing them panda porn in an effort to give them the big idea, but it hasn't worked. So, female pandas continue to be artificially inseminated to create baby pandas because the pandas don't get laid.

The other is that Lun Lun (right?), a panda in the US, is currently on pregnancy watch. However, her keepers aren't sure she's even pregnant, b/c pandas have pseudopregnancies that mimic real pregnancies. In other words, people can't tell if a panda is pregnant or just ... fat.

The bears are cute, but if I've seen one Panda, I've seen them all

, I mean, really, how many variations are there of Panda coat markings?

That is interesting, So lets see, a Panda could be representation of a sexless community, like we kind of associate a rainbow with the gay community. (note: I have nothing against the gay or the sexless communities, just a comparison)

Funny thing...thats the same thing everyone said about me 7 years ago when I was pregnant...and I weigh much more now then i did back then!

Well, whatever then. I didn't see any harm in asking. I may have been missing an event or a celebration or 'Pandas for a Cause' to bring awareness about sexless pandas for all I knew. Didn't think it would have been that much of an issue to ask such a simple question.

I think vardon_grip was just kidding around. If it's any consolation (which it probably isn't), I don't really know what the deal is with pandas either.
