I'm just without Internet. I'm stealing bandwidth right now. Shhhh. Don't tell anyone.

Anyway, we're moved. In northern Alabama now, almost within hollering distance of Mishty. I gotta meet that girl sometime. Things are going okay, but finding high speed Internet in the boonies is no easy task, let me tell you. No cable or DSL. Yuck. We are working the problem, though it'll be a while yet before I'm back on the air for real.

So, just checking in. I hope everyone is well. Gotta go, now! See yez!

Totally know what you mean, Dro. My parents live in the northern part of Alabama, real close to the Tennessee border -- and they are stuck with crappy dial-up for their internet service -- ugh.

Sounds like a bad spot, Dro. Hope you can get a good ISP/Connection worked out, especially a connection that doesn't involve megabux RF or satellite systems!

Hey there, checking in again on borrowed bandwidth.

Looks like the date for Internet hookup is two days from now. I found a local provider for fixed wireless. Relay towers send a microwave signal to a transceiver mounted on the roof of the house. A relay tower is very close to the house, so the signal should be strong and reliable. It won't break the bank, either. $55/month for 10 Mb/s downstream unlimited bandwidth. $100 install fee. Not bad at all, a darn sight cheaper than satellite and probably much more reliable.

Unless something changes, I will be back on the air sometime Friday!

For now, I'm gonna poke around a bit and see what's been happening in my absence.

Mr Fixed Wireless never returned my calls. So fuhgeddaboudim. We've gone with Verizon MiFi. We're very close to a Verizon cell tower, so the signal strength is pretty good. It's good to be connected! I was getting the DT's, I swear.

As for you, Miss Mishty, we're gonna have to meet some time. You'll get a kick out of my nasally Midwestern accent.
