Me too. I have to say all of this has made me very nostalgic. I took a peek at Charles and Di's wedding video on youtube for old times' sake and it unleashed a flood of memories. I remembered myself as a little girl and how magical it all seemed at the time to be watching a real-life girl become an actual princess.

It's not an exaggeration to say that people our age grew up with Diana. I'm not surprised many Americans on here were bothered about the wedding...you're Americans, just as we over here in England really don't care about Obama or whoever else is president of your country.

I think the Royal family represents a huge part of our culture over here and we're not so celebrity obsessed that the crowd turned out just to see the Beckhams. The Beckhams didn't do a parade around London, Will and Kate did

I don't hate America or Americans. But what I hate is the attitude that America is better than every other country out there, and how narrow a view American society has. If it didn't happen within their borders or as a result of their actions, they don't care (and please note I am talking about the society here, not individual people).

And while I'm on it, the internet is not in America. Shocking, I know. There is a whole wide world out there that uses the net, and those people may just be as proud of their country as Americans are of theirs.

I do find it highly amusing that so many have gotten their knickers in a twist over this wedding. If you're not into it, fine, but why shit on that? Sure, the monarchy may be an outdated institution, but for many of us, it is part of our culture and history. It is a big deal to many and there's nothing wrong with being excited or interested in it. They myopic view many have that the only topics worth talking about are ones that are American based is freaking old.
