Camryn Manheim wins Golden Globe
SALLY E. SMITH Editor-in-Chief, BBW Magazine
Actress and BBW Camryn Manheim was accorded a Golden Globe award on Sunday for her portrayal of Eleanor Frutt in ABC's "The Practice." Looking gorgeous in an Anne Klein black low-cut gown and shawl, Manheim's enthusiasm and spirit were palpable as she thanked her castmates, producer, and the New York theater community.
She also received thunderous applause when she said, "I want to share this with every single senator who votes to dismiss the case tomorrow."
Camryn, who burst onto the awards scene last fall when she lofted her Emmy into the air and proclaimed, "This is for all the fat girls," is committed to encouraging BBWs to celebrate their beauty and live their lives to the fullest.
Camryn received her Golden Globe, accorded by the Hollywood Foreign Press at their 56th annual awards show held at the Beverly Hilton, for the category of Supporting Actress in a Series, Mini-Series or TV Movie. There was a tied vote in this category, with an award also going to Faye Dunaway for her role in "Gia."
"The Practice," airing Sunday nights, was also honored with an award for Best Drama Series. Camryn's co-star Dylan McDermott, was also honored with a Golden Globe. BBW tips it hat to Camryn, who we believe is a wonderful role model for BBWs everywhere.
