    The Root Beer Thread

Moxie is great stuff! I always used to stock up on it when I visited relatives in New England. I can't tell you how happy I was when I found a place here in Los Angeles that carries it. :D

FFAs have higher than average sex drives...

In & Out burger! Must have...must have...must have...

FFAs have higher than average sex drives...

That's the sweetest thing I've ever heard, Dark Lady. But goldurnit, I've never done it with the backdrop of a planetary apocalypse. I've always wanted to do that; I think it'd be sooooo-o-o-o-o much more exciting than just, let's say, in a seedy motel room with some cheap vodka and one of...

    Truths-Answer a question/Ask a question.

A: Single malt Scotch. Neat. Q: Ever gone skinny dipping in the dead of winter?

    BMI - What's Yours?

6 feet even. 215 pounds. BMI 29.2 So I'm overweight, but just a hair beneath the obesity threshold. In fairness though, I have a lot of body fat for a guy my height and weight. I'm basically a skinny dude with a big paunch.

Tomorrow is the end of the world, you know. Which means all you horndog FFA's need to get onto an airplane RIGHT FRACKING NOW and fly here to Los Angeles so that you and I can meet and bid each other farewell in an appropriately end-of-the-world manner. Seriously. I mean, I'm just sayin'.

    Today I Learned...

That my truly horrifying downstairs neighbor apparently works as a phone sex girl...that is, if I correctly interpreted her end of the VERY LOUD conversation she was having right out on the front lawn a couple hours ago. I dunno if I find that disturbing, interesting, or just plain...

Thoughts on Society and Being a BHM

Well, anti-fat prejudice is truly the modern Puritanism (as I said in another post, don't remember where), and anyone caught in the cross-hairs of such a Great Moral Crusade™ is likely to find himself in a world of emotional hurt. Unfortunate, but also - sadly - largely unavoidable. So, yeah -...

How fat do you like 'em?

Same here. I don't mind if a woman is "athletic" or even if she's skinny. Hell, skinny is fine; so long as I find the total package appealing. But if she is skinny, yet still has a round, squishy belly...well, I'm a pushover.

This is the most amazing thing you'll see all day.

Also, check out Gigapan for gigapixel images from all over the world. Incredible. Just...incredible.

    Random FOODEE Thoughts and Confessions

It's actually pretty easy to make. I've made it several times and was very satisfied with the results.

CNN: Obesity bigger thread than hunger

No, I believe you're right. Fat will come back into style eventually - although realistically, I think it's still some distance away. Unthinking public sentiment, after all, is a stubborn beast.

    vegetarians

Agreed. I've got relatives who farm, and I lived on a farm myself for several years. Slaughtering livestock is never pleasant to watch, but it does put everything into perspective. FWIW, yes, I do eat meat nonetheless.

How much will you gain for the holidays?

Eeeehh...probably very little, if anything. I've been pretty much the same weight for years, and holidays don't seem to make a difference. It's as if my metabolism has proclaimed from on high: "This is thy weight, and from it thou shalt not stray."

    British People Problems

As an American, I love #2. I've long observed that many Brits can commit third degree aggravated assault by purely verbal means. We Yanks - unaccustomed as we are to such clever and deadly applications of the English language - are utterly dumbfounded by those attacks, and are only able to...
