Widespread Confusion About the Terms "BBW" and "SSBBW"

I don't do it by weight, but by BMI (which also has problemz, I know; it's just better than raw weight and way easier to calculate than body fat percentage). My rule of thumb is this: BMI >30: plus-size >40: BBW >50: SSBBW >70(?): USSBBW

How much heavier to be a bbw?

Well, since my lower cutoff for BBW status is BMI 40, the objections to BMI are somewhat moot. You can have trained athletes with body fat in the normal, "fitness" or even "athlete" range, who nevertheless measure as overweight by BMI (over 25) or even obese (30), based on high muscle mass, but...

How much heavier to be a bbw?

What is your BFP? BFP would be a more accurate measurement, but you need special tests to estimate it. Most BBWs I'm sure don't know their BFP, but they can give their height and weight. But you have to admit BMI is way better than raw weight, which is what a lot of people here like to use. 300...

How much heavier to be a bbw?

Just my view lol. Everyone has their own opinion. I like to think mine is more "scientific", and I just like numbers and quantifying things.

How much heavier to be a bbw?

Actually I think I might have changed my mind: my cut-off for SSBBWs as having a BMI of 40 or above seems too low. Here is my new schema: 25-29.9: Curvy 30-39.9: Chubby or Plus-sized 40-54.9: BBW 55 and above: SSBBW The cut-offs up to BBW correspond to the clinical categories of...

How much heavier to be a bbw?

What do you mean? Are you saying that you don't weigh enough to be a BBW, or that you have trouble with the math?

    BBW and SSBBW....?

And I don't trust concepts like "perceived weight". To me they're about as reliable as perceived penis length. :p

    BBW and SSBBW....?

IMHO it's silly to define these terms by weight alone, since your height affects how well you carry your weight. BMI is surely a much better way to classify BBWs. The way I see it, you need a BMI of 30 or above to be considered a BBW, and 40 or above to be considered an SSBBW.

How much heavier to be a bbw?

Definitions of BBW differ a lot, but fwiw I'd say that if you're clinically overweight, i.e. BMI of 25-29.9, then you're "chubby". If you're clinically obese, i.e. BMI of 30 and over, then you're a BBW. An SSBBW would be someone who is morbidly obese, which is usually defined as BMI of 40 and...

    Evolution: WTF

I've read some of the Intelligent Design literature, and my understanding is that they point to what they see as two large gaps in the evidence. The gap in the fossil evidence that looks to me like the most significant is the absence of fossils of ancestral forms. I.e. there are no fossil...

    Canadian Tipping...

Yeah, I honestly don't see how it's an 'entitlement' issue to expect to be paid a living wage. Isn't everyone entitled to a job and a living? Being paid enough to live on is a right, in my opinion, not a privilege. I mean, I could go out on a limb here and speculate that livelikeitmatters was...

    Canadian Tipping...

Yeah, I agree with LoveBHMs. Tips are not gifts, they're earned money. You can't start preaching about being 'grateful for what you receive' when it comes to tips. At least, no more than you can preach to anyone who is being paid less than the value of their work. Sure, if waiters were paid a...

    Virgin Roll Call

I think this notion of a double standard is interesting. I'd like to know where it comes from. It certainly doesn't come from traditional Christian morality, since Christianity has always taught that both men and women must remain virgins until marriage.

    Men & Women: Platonic Friendships?

Ah I see what you mean. It is a risk, but I don't think it's wrong to take it to the next level since it may well turn out both of you are really compatible.

    Men & Women: Platonic Friendships?

The last part made no sense to me. If both feel they love each other 'that way', and are not attached, i.e. would not be betraying anyone by getting romantically involved, then how exactly would it 'ruin their friendship' to take it to the next level? I mean, would becoming lovers mean they...
